26CornerBlitz Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 @john_kucko As a kid, the #MLB NBC Game of the Week each Saturday was "must-see TV". RIP Joe Garagiola!
CowgirlsFan Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Sad and prayers to all his family and friends.
eball Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Hate to say it, but I thought he was already dead. RIP Joe.
Pete Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 @john_kucko As a kid, the #MLB NBC Game of the Week each Saturday was "must-see TV". RIP Joe Garagiola! That was must see TV for me too. And This Week in Baseball. RIP Joe
KD in CA Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 That was must see TV for me too. And This Week in Baseball. RIP Joe Same here. RIP Joe.
Mike in Horseheads Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I remember Joe and Tony Kubek doing the Saturday afternoon games. back then it was one of the few times you came in to watch TV from playing outside. That of course has reversed now sadly. RIP Joe!
Chef Jim Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Hate to say it, but I thought he was already dead. RIP Joe. You're thinking of Abe Vigoda.
DDD Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I remember Joe and Tony Kubek doing the Saturday afternoon games. back then it was one of the few times you came in to watch TV from playing outside. That of course has reversed now sadly. RIP Joe! Me too. ESPN, FOX Sports, Direct TV, etc were not around so it was the only game you could see. While it's great to have the option to watch any game any day of the week, I've become desensitized. The games are no longer an event, rather just one of many insignificant games airing daily that I have zero interest in watching.
Alaska Darin Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 The voice of baseball on TV from my youth. RIP. Agreed. He always came across as such a great guy. Pure class.
Beerball Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 You're thinking of Abe Vigoda.he's dead too, has been for years
Helpmenow Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Joe was a classic. Over saturated with baseball now. Was better in the ole days when Saturday was the day
BringBackFergy Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Embarrassed. When I heard he died, I told my daughter "The Green Grocer" died...the guy that used to be on tv when I was a kid showing off nice veggies. I honestly thought he was an ex-baseball player who was a paid spokesman for fresh vegetables back int he 70's and 80's. I'm so confused. RIP Joe G. (and Joe C. who died in 1988)
