It's a far cry from saying that they won't trade the starting QB 8 days before the draft.

I wish that cry was closer.

Sounds a lot like negotations between Panthers and Norman.

More on his agent:

The new law firm cash cow: professional athletes?

similar to Norman but the big difference is that Carolina placed a relatively low value on the CB position in its defense and decided not to pay more than 10-11 mill/yr to that position. QB is the highest value position on the team so in this case it will be more about the player and what they think he can do in the future vs any kind of line they would draw in the sand about what they will/won't pay for a QB. yup - either they will think TYROD is worth the market rate, or they wont. at some point they will need to find a QB that is though.

right now theres no rush to make that decision, but im not sure if they are just stalling for the economics of it, or if theres a little less excitement about him in the coaching ranks than there is among fans.

I think the organization needs to see two things out of Tyrod to make their decision...an ability to extend drives (cut down the 3-and-outs) and an ability to take control of a game on his own. Those are things that can't be "schemed" by Roman.

If Tyrod gets the Bills to the playoffs, $18MM/yr will seem like a deal. He'll want $20MM++.

it seems like a deal now too - I thought it was good news that Osweiler's contract was starting point and not Aaron Rodgers contract. At least that is reasonable.

I have not read the 33 pages but this is my take:

I like TT and hope he is our QB of the future. Nevertheless, TT's agent has not created any leverage whatsoever in the negotiations.

TT's agent essentially wants the Bills to pay TT as if TT already has proven that he is entitled to be paid as an elite QB. In no way shape or form does that put the Bills at risk.

No team is going to pay TT in free agency more than what his agent is demanding now before TT has shown he is worth that kind of money.

The guy taking the risk is TT. He and his agent should seriously offer the Bill a deal that is attractive to the Bills now so that TT does not have to risk the ramifications of getting injured or not proving he is worth the $$$.

TT can guaranty that he will be a millionaire the rest of his life. Do TT and his agent want to risk that?

Just my two cents.
