Rob's House Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 We benchmark 2 years of fatal shooting data on 16 crime rate estimates. When adjusting for crime, we find no systematic evidence of anti-Black disparities in fatal shootings, fatal shootings of unarmed citizens, or fatal shootings involving misidentification of harmless objects. Multiverse analyses showed only one significant anti-Black disparity of 144 possible tests. Exposure to police given crime rate differences likely accounts for the higher per capita rate of fatal police shootings for Blacks, at least when analyzing all shootings. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/325752754_Is_There_Evidence_of_Racial_Disparity_in_Police_Use_of_Deadly_Force_Analyses_of_Officer-Involved_Fatal_Shootings_in_2015-2016 2
Rob's House Posted June 26, 2020 Posted June 26, 2020 In 1804 Haitians massacred the remaining white population in the country. They moved from house to house, torturing and butchering white men, women, and children by the thousands. They did so with a full sense of justice for what the white man had done to them. While we hear about the dangers of white supremacism on a daily basis, there is virtual radio silence on the growing black supremacism and its role in the riots across the US. How many will recognize this photo as the equivalent of a Neo-Nazi promising to repeat the Holocaust? This is why the myth of systemic racism is so extremely dangerous. It fuels a narrative of victimhood, wherein every instance of violence is justifiable as a revolutionary act against the oppressors. It's crucial that we recognize, deconstruct, and condemn the ideological underpinnings of this movement. 4

The primary reason why violent crime rates and black on black crime within black communities are dismissed as "irrelevant" or, worse, as being "racist," when discussing police killings and allegations of systemic racism, is because honest analyses destroys the national narrative. These issues are important because they are primary factors that drive the disproportionate amount of police responses to / interactions with black communities, and the nature of those responses / interactions. I don't know what is worse, the violent criminals who are literally terrorizing black communities, or the black leaders and politicians who allow it to continue by turning a blind eye or engaging in willful ignorance for personal or political gain. 3 3
