Black Lives Matter doesn't exist to win popularity contests. It has actually policy goals, and those goals are being taken up around the county.

Like defunding the police?

Yeah, no one wants that. Not even the people who think they do.

Excerpt from “On Killing: The Psychology and Physiology of Deadly Conflict in War and in Peace” by Lt Col D. Grossman:

”The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, cannot and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheepdog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours.

Still, the sheepdog disturbs the sheep. He is a constant reminder that there are wolves in the land. They would prefer that he didn’t tell them where to go, or give them traffic tickets, or stand at the ready in our airports in camouflage fatigues holding an M-16. The sheep would much rather have the sheepdog cash in his fangs, spray paint himself white, and go, ‘Baa’.”

president trump is a dictator. Joe Biden is a man of the people. Had Joe Biden been president none of this would have happened and George Floyd

may still be alive.

Every President we’ve had since at least Lincoln has been a dictator.  It’s how the Office has progressed, each new administration taking on the powers the previous administration afforded itself, and added new ones through policy.

It can be reasonably argued that this President has actually reduced the scope of the Executive Branch:

- He has deregulated, decreasing the Executive rule making apparatus and returning to Congress the duty to legislate.

- He has enforced their law, as written, in regards to immigration policy; forcing Congress to change the law if they want the law changed.

- He has, in response to Covid-19, responsibly adhered to the tenants of Federalism, not taking the dictatorial steps of nationalizing industry.

- He has deferred to the states and their governors in response to the violent protests/riots, not nationalizing they National Guard, allowing them to respond as they think is best for their own states/municipalities.

This list is by no means comprehensive. This isn’t to say that he isn’t a dictator, but rather that he is a dictator because the modern presidency is a dictatorial office.

Now, moving on...

Joe Biden is a man of the people?  What kind of nonsense is this?  Joe Biden is a crook who was a part of the last dictatorial Presidency, and has used his various federal offices over the course of decades to enrich himself and his family at the expense of the People.  He is by no means alone in this.  That’s standard operating procedure for a career Congressperson, regardless of party.

Which brings us the the race stuff.  Joe Biden has been part of the law making body, and the executive branch of our government for decades.  He signed the Crime Bill.  He has had a chance to shape policy, and resolve racial strife, if you believe policy and law can do such a thing.  And if you do believe a congressperson or member of the executive branch can do such a thing, then you have to recognize the the events of the day are a culmination of Joe Biden’s life work.

Or, alternatively, you could take a much more sane position, as I have, and recognize that elected officials in the federal government have absolutely zero bearing on local law enforcement, and the decision making, bad or good, of individual cops.

One Officer stabbed, 2 shot in Brooklyn, hours into New York City curfew

https://www.post-gazette.com/news/nation/2020/06/04/Officer-stabbed-2-shot-in-Brooklyn-attack-New-York-curfew-George-Floyd/stories/202006040112

NEW YORK - A New York City police officer on an anti-looting patrol was ambushed Wednesday by a man who walked up behind him and stabbed him in the neck, police said, setting off a struggle in which the assailant was shot and two other officers suffered gunshot injuries to their hands. All three injured officers were expected to recover. The man who attacked them was shot multiple times and was hospitalized in critical condition, said Police Commissioner Dermot Shea.

Mr. Shea said the man casually approached two officers stationed in the area to prevent looting at around 11:45 a.m. and stabbed one of them. Officers a short distance away heard gunshots, rushed to the scene and saw the man with a gun in his hand, believed to have been taken from one of the officers, Mr. Shea said. The responding officers then opened fire.

Shea didn’t speculate on the motive of the stabber, who was not identified, but Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch blamed anti-police rhetoric during the protests. “Are we surprised? Are we surprised we’re here in the hospital again. Did we doubt because of the rhetoric we’re hearing, the anti-police rhetoric that’s storming our streets, are we surprised that we got this call? I’m not. We said it’s going to happen,” he said.

A former Obama administration intelligence official who worked in both the Departments of State and Defense has guaranteed bail for a human rights lawyer accused of firebombing a police vehicle in New York City.

The former official, Salmah Rizvi, told a judge the alleged firebomber is her "best friend." Rizvi, now an attorney at the D.C.-based law firm Ropes & Gray, helped secure the release of fellow lawyer Urooj Rahman by agreeing to be a suretor for her bail.

I don't think Brees is stupid and the first thought that came to me when he made that statement in such a heated point in time in this country is he wants a future in politics.  By the way, he's done more for that city than any of those people combined.
