What's up with the tuna industry!? Call me a fool but I never realized the cans of tuna I buy are "property of China" and canned in the US. I will never eat Bumble Bee again.

Anyone know of a company that isn't using this same method to undoubtedly increase profit margins? I'm all set with depending on the Chinese to handle fish.

I got 4 cans sitting in pantry... Link to recall? Should I ditch them? I guess I will Google it... First I heard.

No go ahead and eat them. Not a big deal.

"Bumble Bee is recalling 31,579 cases of the canned tuna with UPC codes 8660000020, 8660000021 and 8660000736. They were produced in February 2016 and distributed nationally. The company said they could pose a possible health risk because of "process deviations" which occurred in a packing facility not owned or operated by Bumble Bee."

All my 4 cans UPC say is:

866253

No zeros in the middle... I guess they are safe???

Also... Says:

"Caught in Pacific Ocean

Product of Thailand

Canned in USA"

SHAMELESS PLUG:

I guess we have to eat Asian carp caught in the wild US. Asian carp contains less contaminents than any other fish on the planet AND has 75% omega-3 than salmon... Higher than any other fish... AND Asian carp is the most eaten fish throughout world by far...

Oh in that case throw it away.

If was... I am cheap and will do all you a favor... The UPC's seem not to be the ones... I will probably feed my three cats it! /devil

Next question... Is: "chunk white albacore "in water)" th same thing?

Or is albacore a different type of tuna than the standard stuff...??

Says: "premium tuna"

There are different species of Tuna, depending on where they live.

Albacore is basically junk fish that has to be cooked. Bluefin is for sushi and costs $$$$

I didn't know this either that it was outsourced. I'm not a big canned tuna person already. What I have is Cloverleaf brand Skipjack in water in my pantry. Product of Thailand. I guess we need Donald Trump to call out the Tuna industry at his next rally. :w00t:
