BillnutinHouston Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I know this wasn't addressed to me....but, I expected a NT and hoped for a LB to run Rex's D. I also thought we would have Gilmore OR Glenn locked up long term giving us s little more csp space. Still time for all that though! Likely, will be our draft picks IMO.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Vikings safety Robert Blanton headed to Buffalo to visit the Bills Blanton saw his playing time take a sharp decline last season and is looking for a new home. Blanton had an excellent 2014 season for the Vikings as their starter at strong safety, but he played behind Andrew Sendejo for most of 2015 -- he saw his snap percentage drop from 91.7 percent to just 29.1 percent, per Pro Football Focus. Still, he is only 26 years old and will turn 27 right around the time next season starts. If they can hook him in on a deal, they'd likely be getting his prime years. There are worse ways to spend your free agent money than on a young player that has a recent track record of above-average play.
3rdand12 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 (edited) You know. It's important to win Free Agency. win something at least At least he has experience defending Martellus Bennett twice a year. And Forte. He's depth as we have our two starters but with all the sub-packages it's an important role. good points Maybe he is the solve for Bennett. Chess anyone? I think he would fill a need Edited March 18, 2016 by 3rdand12
26CornerBlitz Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 @J_Bernstein Congratulations to @BlantonRobert on signing with the #Bills today! Well deserved.
GG Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 I'll defer to the experts but looks like a quality signing
26CornerBlitz Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 @BuffaloBillsPR The #Bills have signed S Robert Blanton (@BlantonRobert). He'll be reuniting with @jfelton45. The two were Vikings teammates from '12-'14.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Maybe moving Graham back to corner? I can't see that happening at all.
Bills Fan in MD Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Well, time to start making flight reservations to Houston next February . . .
26CornerBlitz Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 @PFWeekly #Bills sign 26-year-old former #Vikings S w/ 17 career starts to back up Williams, Graham: http://shawurl.com/2h8w
dpberr Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 From what I've read, he's an excellent tackler. I wouldn't be so sure he'll be the backup come regular season. I think he'll be in the mix for a starting job.
YoloinOhio Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Maybe moving Graham back to corner?i doubt that - I think he is taking Rambo or Duke's spot.
John from Riverside Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Lets face it.....one of the D's main problems was lack of quality safety play after Williams went down. Could be insurance for Williams
Wayne Cubed Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Good depth signing. Safety position has taken hits in recent years with injuries and the Bills have just been throwing CBs at the position. It'll be nice to have a solid backup.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Meeks and Duke should be feeling nervous. @buffalobills The Bills have signed safety Robert Blanton. http://bufbills.co/x1qsA4 Welcome to Buffalo, @BlantonRobert!
thebandit27 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Not a bad thing, but I'm still hoping for a 3rd/4th round guy in the draft.
Jamie Nails Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Meeks and Duke should be feeling nervous. @buffalobills The Bills have signed safety Robert Blanton. http://bufbills.co/x1qsA4 Welcome to Buffalo, @BlantonRobert! One of them is gone
nucci Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Well, time to start making flight reservations to Houston next February . . . Ahh, of course....the "Championship" comment whenever a non-superstar is signed....never get tired of them
26CornerBlitz Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Not a bad thing, but I'm still hoping for a 3rd/4th round guy in the draft. One of them is gone Could be both if the Bills draft a Safety as Bandit and many others wish to see happen.
