In another brilliant move by Kraft and Belichek, the Patriots shuffle pawns and retain the greatest QB to ever play the game. Another triumph.

Pretty sure if we check out the Chicago boards we're going to see a send off for Bennett not to different from the last Mario thread. He's a great talent, but will he show up for them? Will he be happy and feel respected in a complementary role to Gronk? How will he react when the gameplan has him as a non-factor for weeks at a time?

Hasnt that OG been somewhat of a bust so far?

He's kind of their Kujo. He's a better player than Kujo, but like Kujo's nowhere near a 41st player selected player, he's nowhere near a top 10 draft pick player.

Cooper only played because he was a top-10 pick. He's no better than Kujo.

All we can hope for his Gronk drinking himself into oblivion and Martysaurus Rex going apesh*t on the locker room because his sole purpose is blocking for Tommy while he throws 10 yard (oops that will now be 9 yard) passes to Chris Hogan.

great weapons for Brady and they improved their O-line! Yeah, they figure out a way to stay under the cap and make the playoffs every year and we can't figure out how to even be a threat.

I think referring to either Hogan or Bennett as "great" is a monumental stretch. They have marginally improved their receiving options. Cooper is a bad OL. On defense, they let a top notch player in Jones go, and replaced him with a far worse player in Long. People's overestimation of the brilliance of the Pats knows no bounds.

Yes my opinion remains the same everywhere.

Is it not true? Brady's record against us is ridiculous.

If by that you mean depressing and ScottLaw like I agree.

The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears had "pervasive doubts" about Martellus Bennett's commitment.
Per reporter Dan Wiederer, Bennett offered "minimal effort to conform to the unselfish and focus-driven culture" the Bears are trying to instill under coach John Fox. Wiederer also confirms Bennett's late season ribs injury, which landed him on injured reserve for four games, was essentially a sham. In the end, the sides' divorce boiled down to the fact that Bennett wanted a better contract and the Bears were dead set against it. So is life for a player in a league where teams monopolize the negotiating power with non-guaranteed deals. Mar 17 - 9:40 PM

Sounds like a great fit for Belichek and the Patriots.

I like how the Pats can contend for a Super Bowl every year and seem to be able to make whatever deal they like when they need to.

Meanwhile in Buffalo our team who hasn't had a sniff of the playoffs in more than 15 years, barely manages an 8-8 record. and can't do jack because they're in cap jail again.

This move exposes their dire LB situation even more and they can't do anything about it except hope to improve that area through the draft. Billy boy giving the middle finger to Rex on this one.

Helps when you don't follow the salary cap by funneling money into your HOF QBs side business to make up for the difference of what they owe him

This was mentioned before. Can you elaborate?

the NFL has not raised any concerns about the arrangement. The league provided the Globe with the following statement: “We are aware of the arrangement and have not determined that there is any violation of the CBA.'' The NFLPA also told the Globe that the arrangement between the Patriots and TB12 has no salary cap implications.
