LewPort71 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I am crushed at this news. ELP is my favorite group. RIP Keith
EDinRTP Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 My absolute favorite musician of all time. An amazing talent. First saw ELP in August 1971 at Buffalo's Peace Bridge Exhibition Center and became a big part of my life from that day on. RIP Keith
The Poojer Posted March 11, 2016 Author Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) ELP was my first favorite band, Brain Salad Surgery absolutely blew my young impressionable mind......(yes I know, Tarkus isn't from BSS) Edited March 11, 2016 by The Poojer
Best Player Available Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Monumental loss. he took the Moog mainstream and was one of Bob's biggest supporters. Lucky Man was huge. In many ways. If you ever saw him live you never forgot it. RIP BRO
dhg Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Deeply sadened by this news. My favorite keyboardist by far and THE reason I became a huge prog fan. Had the pleasure of seeing him perform multiple times. I will always cherish those. RIP
Momma Pecoraro Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 ELP was my first favorite band, Brain Salad Surgery absolutely blew my young impressionable mind......(yes I know, Tarkus isn't from BSS) They opened for Spinal Tap. Or a puppet show. It's hazy now.

Chef Jim Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Yup. I heard last night he had nerve damage in an arm and couldn't play keys anymore. Only a rumor at the point.
nucci Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 My first concert at The Aud....1977...I was 16.....
reddogblitz Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I'm heartbroken. Keith was a monster musician and composer. I remember when I first heard him. AI was on my high school CC team and we went on a road trip. One of my team mate's Uncle was driving and he put in a tape of Trilogy. I was blown away and an immediate fan. Never saw him live sadly. A few years ago I bought his album, Keith Emerson Band which is awesome. If you haven't heard it, check it out. Also has my old school mate Greg Bisonette on drums. Always makes me a little sadder when someone punches their own ticket. Sad day in greater rockdom
