YoloinOhio Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) @rapsheet For the #Jaguars and RB Chris Ivory, it's a 5-year deal that's well north of $6M per year. And they already have Yeldon... Trying to reach that min cap?? Glad he's off the Jets anyway. I thought no one paid RBs anymore! Edited March 9, 2016 by YoloinOhio
VaMilBill Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 overpriced. Way too much for him. But I do think he will be a great change of pace back for yeldon
Blokestradamus Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 If you're going to overpay to reach the cap floor, this is a good guy to see get overpaid. Balls to the wall, mean SOB. Long deal with what you'd assume is a substantial chunk of guaranteed money for a guy with his injury history is brave. Happy for Chris though, he's fun to watch.
KD in CA Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I've always liked Chris Ivory, but not at $6M a year.
YoloinOhio Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 @connor_j_hughes Source: Chris Ivorys deal with #Jaguars will be for five years, $32.5 million. Between $10-$15m GTD.
Coach Tuesday Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) My goodness it's silly season around the NFL. And poorly-run organizations like the Jags, Raiders and Cowboys continue to ruin the market by overpaying average talent. The Bills have done the same thing over the years (Dockery, Walker). You're telling me you can't draft a RB in the fourth round who can do what Ivory does? Edited March 9, 2016 by Coach Tuesday
YoloinOhio Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) Sounds similar to McCoy's deal (without looking it up) Edit: I looked it up. Not similar. Lol Edited March 9, 2016 by YoloinOhio
aristocrat Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Jags needed a legit guy. I like the move but man he's getting up there in age already.
nucci Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I've always liked Chris Ivory, but not at $6M a year. Jags way under the cap floor...have to spend money this off-season to reach minimums
White Linen Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Jags way under the cap floor...have to spend money this off-season to reach minimums Exactly and are forced to overpay because no one is going there until they prove the ship is headed in the right direction. I'm not making fun because we've obviously been there. We're a professionally ran organization now which makes me so incredibly disappointed in my fellow Bills fans when they say things like wanting Whaley gone.

They need to start some winning and if Bortles can keep up the play they could have something going.
Chuck Wagon Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 He's a fit for what they need, but I think this is the first really dumb deal of FA.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 When I saw he signed there, I thought it was going to be like a 2-year $5 mill total deal. Like what you would pay a good platoon guy, which is what he is. Maybe the jags will go out and sign Boobie next!
BuffalothruMyVeins Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 The Jags should hedge their bets on Bortles, trade back, and still pick up a QB they really like in the mid-to-2nd half of round 1. They're starting to aquire sone talent there, and they should make sure that offense takes flight on schedule, whether Bortles or someone else is on the stick.

They are in decent shape at RB, WR and QB already.

nucci Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 RBs getting paid so far. I never agreed with the "Just a plug a guy in there" line...if that was the case Boobie would still have a job....have to have some talent to play the position.
