For a TE that had 109 yards this year and 395 last year. Charles Clay, injured or not, is a steal compared to that

Dwayne Allen had 16 catches last year on a team that barely runs the ball.

It's a bad TE draft and the FA bunch is even worse. TEs are getting PAID. Especially 3 down TEs like he and Clay.

The Colts seriously have the worst front office in football

They do. Paying Dwayne Allen isn't the reason why though,. Now all they need to do is utilize him which is a another story.

Fleener is on his way out. No more 2 TE sets from Chud.

Those gold glowing locks running so freely down the field....then stone hands happens!! Allen is an upgrade all around. Use him!! And stop drafting small WR's instead of linemen.

You're right, it isn't the sole reason. They make some of the worst decisions a front office can make. If they hadn't scored Luck in the draft they'd be a perennial 3-5 win team. Other than Luck and Hilton they can't draft worth a damn, the Hughes for Sheppard trade, the Trent Richardson debacle, this list goes on. If I were Andrew Luck I'd run for the hills the second I have the chance.

Grigson always goes for the big splash instead of doing what makes sense. That cost him the playoffs and his QB a whole lot of pain. If they don't fix the play calling and oline Luck is going to regress. I think they finally came to grips with that though, we will see soon enough.

But he drafted Andrew Luck!!! Genius.

But if Fleener walks, I can see Allen having a breakout year. He's a talented player.

The trade for Vontae was great, taking advantage of another awful front office in Miami, but was an outlier.

Allen was having a decent year pre-injury in 2014... he was a major disappointment in 2015. That contract looks mad, it is ludicrous. It is supply and demand now with TEs isn't it? A lack of good ones has driven up prices.
