3rdand12 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Osweiler started to lay an egg as the game film density increased. Maybe the Donkeys are smarter than you think.. i think the donkeys are in this case. Crazy , this deal, crazy i tell ya
26CornerBlitz Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 @bylindsayhjones Elway: "We've stayed true to our philosophy of building a team w/ players who want to be Denver Broncos."
RunninRebel37 Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I agree with the sentiment that TT should be/deserves to be paid, especially given what Osweiler received. He played well for an entire season and was MUCH more than the game manager Osweiler was. I understand opportunity and situation is everything, but had this been a contract year for TT, not only could he be getting paid, he'd (if OBD didn't pay him) potentially be headed to a Superbowl contender. I hope Buffalo does the right thing and pay him at some point during next season as long as his performance is same/better.

I get why Denver was going to pay him but I think Houston is out of their minds and I liked BO in college. O'Brien might not be the qb guru people thinks he is without that Brady guy. Houston makes some curious decisions.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 @PFWeekly Updated story on Brock Osweiler with strong quotes from John Elway http://shawurl.com/2gil
26CornerBlitz Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 @AlbertBreer Texans QB Brock Osweiler's 4-year, $72 million deal inc $37 million fully guaranteed. $21 million in 2016, and $55 million in first 3 years.
Virgil Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I'm NOT saying we should do this AT ALL! But I wonder what we could get in trade for TT
YoloinOhio Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 This really happened @realskipbayless Hey, Elway: a QB who went 7-4 as a starter for you, won the division and a playoff game IS available. Huge star in Denver. Guy named Tebow.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 i think the donkeys are in this case. Crazy , this deal, crazy i tell ya I think Brock Osweiler is set to be the Rob Johnson of the Houston Oilers, and the Houston Oilers are getting set to be the "Grass is Greener" have-nots of the QB Sweepstakes.

Or maybe he'll be their Sam Bradford, a rookie signed for ridiculous figures who looked just promising enough (when he played) to strangle them from making serious effort to improve

Holy crap! No wonder he wanted to hit free agency. Good God, that's a ridiculous contract for Osweiler.
YoloinOhio Posted March 10, 2016 Author Posted March 10, 2016 He is freakishly tall. Meaningless maybe but it's disturbing on some level.
Saxum Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Fitz needs to play hardball. Nothing less than $15 mill per year! If I am Denver I call Fitz. I bring in Fitz. He is exactly what you want when in their position. Disirregardless of the hype of Griffin or Kaepernick. Both have as many rings as Fitz. And both have as much of an upside and much more of a downside. Fitz will be cheaper and a stop guard to any qb they want to develop Agreed on Fitz. He'd be Denver's best choice. They know how to handle the noodle arm and won with less this past year. And yeah, the boy needs to get his 12-15 mil What Elway needs to do is give him an incentive based contract offer where he can earn a lot more than he would on a regular contract; Fritz would then need to bet on himself to get the big payoff at end of career.
Felonious Monk Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 (edited) Brian Griese didn't stand a chance in succeeding a "legendary" QB who retired after winning a Super Bowl. Same team, same situation, bigger legend. I would think twice, too. Good move for Osweiler. For Texas? LOL. Edited March 10, 2016 by Felonious Monk
Saxum Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Thaddeus Lewis signed by SF? CK on the way out? https://www.profootballrumors.com/thaddeus-lewis/ The 49ers have signed quarterback Thaddeus Lewis to a one-year deal, Rand Getlin of NFL.com tweets. Lewis, 28, was on the Eagles’ roster when Chip Kelly was their head coach last season. The two are now reunited in San Francisco. Lewis has appeared in seven NFL games, though none since 2014, made six starts, and tossed five touchdowns against four interceptions
aristocrat Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 broncos just need a guy like fitz...manage and let defense win until den figures out the next guy
26CornerBlitz Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 broncos just need a guy like fitz...manage and let defense win until den figures out the next guy Do they need a guy who in close games with a chance to win has shown a great propensity to throw soul crushing interceptions? No!
DDD Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 I'm getting a Rob Johnson feeling on this one. Huge contract with limited action. Well, at least the Texans didn't give up a 1st rounder.
