purple haze
http://nypost.com/2016/03/04/blood-stained-knife-found-buried-on-oj-simpsons-estate/ A knife was discovered at OJ's old home in Brentwood. The murder weapon? It appears to have blood on it. Can you say, hoax? So after all these decades, a knife just happens to have been found, given to a COP, who holds onto it because he doesn't know the law? If it is true that this cop had this knife and just now said something it verifies the LAPD incompetence Johnny Cochran spoke of at the trial. I think this is just a "story" released during a popular tv show on the subject to keep interest heightened. Maybe it's just me though. hondo in seattle
Johnny Cocharan successfully cast doubt on the entire LAPD. He basically implied that they are racist and incompetent, so how can they possibly be trusted to testify, investigate and collect evidence against a black man? So, even though there was plenty of evidence it was invalid because the LAPD collected it. If they had found a bloody knife at the time then he would have just said that they planted it or improperly collected/stored it or whatever so who knows if it was really OJs. I honestly don't know of anyone who though OJ was innocent at the time. Even my black friends who were happy with the verdict were happy because it cast light on what they say is systematic police discrimination and abuse against black people, not because an innocent man was set free. Barry Speck, another member of Simpson's dream team, did a masterful job of casting doubt on the forensic evidence. Since there were no eyewitnesses, this was a very big deal. Cochran and Speck created enough doubt about the evidence as collected by LAPD to win acquittal. Incidentally, about 60% of blacks at the time thought OJ was innocent. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/06/09/majority-of-african-americans-now-say-simpson-was-guilty/ 88% of blacks thought the jury reached the right decision. http://www.cnn.com/US/OJ/daily/9510/10-06/poll_race/oj_poll_txt.html Mark Fuhrman was one of the LAPD investigators on the case. While the jury didn't know this, Fuhrman admitted to using the word, "n*gg*r" multiple times and pleaded the 5th when asked if he ever fabricated evidence to arrest and convict black suspects. Fuhrman's obvious racism and admission that he'd fabricated evidence in the past made people wonder if he tampered with the evidence at this murder scene. I think that this reaction was conflated with the happiness at the perceived discrimination being revealed. I strongly suspect that if you took a poll today the number of blacks who say they think OJ was innocent would be much less. ExiledInIllinois
It was a folding buck knife. Just saying... It would take all year for a killer to saw through two people w/that thing. Maybe that is why the traffic cop thought it was a joke and wanted it framed... Conversation piece: "Hey look what I got." I can't remember... Was DNA part of the trial or was that still new technology... How did it play out. Would DNA been a slam dunk in 2016 of the muders happened now? sfladave
"That s--t wasn't about race that s--t was about fame. If O.J. wasn't famous, he'd be in jail right now. If O.J. drove a bus, he wouldn't even be O.J. He'd be Orenthal the Bus Driving Murderer." - Chris Rock 1996 Yeah except it was about race! Fame made it a worldwide clusterfug but it wasn't ever really about fame! It was always about race. It was the Rodney King being righted!Anyone who tries to argue otherwise was either in diapers or still a sperm hoping to make an impact on this world! Billsmovinup
Plenty of people on this board defended him. Yea. Because he can run a toss sweep like nobody else which clearly proves he's not a wife beater or a homicidal maniac. I mean look at Peyton Manning. No way anybody who threw for 55 tds in one year could possibly act in a sexually inappropriate manner and then violate a confidentiality agreement by defaming said victim years later with malicious uncorroborated stories which cost well respected victim her job. I mean no way any of that's possible. Edited March 6, 2016 by Billsmovinup

I strongly suspect that if you took a poll today the number of blacks who say they think OJ was innocent would be much less. According to one poll in 2014, 53% of blacks thought OJ was guilty. You're right about the trend. As years go by, more and more blacks think OJ is guilty. But in the same poll, 83% of whites report thinking OJ was guilty. There's still a racial divide, and that divide has more to do with the police than OJ himself. Blacks, in general, trust police (and - by extension - the evidence they collect) than whites. Cops like Mark Fuhrman are the reason why. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/06/09/majority-of-african-americans-now-say-simpson-was-guilty/ Another poll with similar results: https://today.yougov.com/news/2014/06/12/oj-simpson-case-and-race-20-years-later/

Although I wonder how many of the 53% would be ok with OJ marrying their daughters.
