Saxum Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 Four of ten signed tenders; we still need to see if they will play or just sit out as long as possible to get another year of eligibility. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25504741/bills-cordy-glenn-rams-trumaine-johnson-sign-franchise-tenders Washington's Kirk Cousins signed his tag on Wednesday, Ravens kicker Justin Tucker signed early Friday, and Buffalo Bills left tackle Cordy Glenn and Los Angeles Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson each signed on Friday afternoon.
boyst Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 People are surprised Norman got non exclusive. At least here. I'm not. Norman is good but they'd be happy to walk away with 2 1sts I bet. And if I was Denver and far away from reaching a deal with osweiler, ID consider making a deal for Cousins.

And if I was Denver and far away from reaching a deal with osweiler, ID consider making a deal for Cousins. The interesting thing for Norman is he is kinda old for a guy getting to the end of his rookie deal. He is 28, so any kind of long term deal means you are committing to locking him up until 32/33. He had a good 2014 and a great 2015 but is he such a good corner that you immediately think he will still perform at a high level when the physical skill begin to decline? I'm not convinced. If I'm Carolina I let him play on the tag and I give myself time to make my decision. Compare that to Gilmore who will be in this position next year (unless he extends this off season). Gilmore will be 26 come this time next year having been in the league the same length of time as Norman and Buffalo could give him a 5 year deal that only takes him to 31. I dunno... I just feel like corner is increasingly a young man's position and that is why I think the Panthers are in a bind with Norman.

Yep Carolina does play mainly zone. I suppose that also leads them to ask if corner is as premium for them as it is for certain other teams? Carolina rely on having do it all linebackers who can cover tight ends, backs and slot guys whilst also stopping the run which allows their safeties to stay back there for some security.

Oh I'm almost certain the pass rush makes him look better. I think they would be more likely to do a deal if he was 26.
