IDBillzFan Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Does anyone take athlete interviews seriously? 244714 Not since watching "Bull Durham."
stevestojan Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 What do you mean by that? 244717 Depends on your definition of "that".
BillsFanNC Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Not since watching "Bull Durham." 244728 You mean this? Crash Davis: It's time to work on your interviews.Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: My interviews? What do I gotta do? Crash Davis: You're gonna have to learn your clichés. You're gonna have to study them, you're gonna have to know them. They're your friends. Write this down: "We gotta play it one day at a time." Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: Got to play... it's pretty boring. Crash Davis: 'Course it's boring, that's the point. Write it down
stevewin Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I also thought the "I’m not the answer to this problem we’re having and I don’t think there’s an answer to it" quote was very weird. I also was surprised his leg isn't totally full strength? - "I’m working out with my strength coach and my speed coach to try to strengthen my leg up a little bit. They say it’s going to take another month or so" On a related note - I thought a comment Drew made was pretty interesting - doesn't sound like he necessarly thinks the world of JP (at least at this point): "Backing up anybody is not something I foresee for me," he said. "I don't see myself ever being a backup in this league, and particularly for J.P. . . . BN editorial
