clumping platelets
Went from $540,000 to $2.5 million Must have had a salary escalator and I was not aware of it I now have them $7,418,595 under before tenders, official salary cap, and likely cap (debit) adjustment
nodnarb
it was probably the probowl. this is another aspect of the probowl that's a total and complete JOKE Scenario: Player, who is a probowl alternate, has a friend who makes the probowl. They both know that the alternate has a probowl escalator. The guy who makes it figures, hey. I got the "nod" already...getting voted in is what keeps your value high. Not whether or not you play. Oh look, I have a backache. I think I'll let my buddy here hit his escalator. Maybe he'll treat me to some ladies down on the islands. This happens all the time, and its the teams that pay the price, literally. The Probowl is a fuggin joke that must be done away with. The whole thing is an awkward, boring embarrassment. By the way, where did you read this, clump>?
clumping platelets
http://www.nflpa.org/Members/playerProfile.asp?ID=30107 I agree.....being named as an alternate probably triggered the escalator
sfladave
I am sure that Nate got a bonus for the Pro Bowl. It seems to me that a $2 million escalation from a Pro Bowl appearance is a bit high (nearly 5 times his salary). I suspect that his initial salary was listed wrong in the first place by the source you got your information.
Snorom
The salary cap news just gets more depressing. Clump have you had a chance to upgrade your salary cap page.

Mike32282
This is why we need to sign Clements to an extension this offseason.
stevestojan
Clements is worth closer to $2.5 million than $540,000... We could do worse with $2.5M than NC.

dave mcbride
Nate is a first rounder....surely his contract was for more than 540K a season. 244675 $540K was very likely his salary for this past year. you're not factoring in his bonus, which is prorated across the length of the contract. IDBillzFan
The Probowl is a fuggin joke ... 244479 Unless you can get in early on the over with some serious green. It makes the joke a bit easier to watch.

clumping platelets
Nate Clements was only making 540k? When is his contract up? 244669 http://espn.go.com/nfl/afc/draftsignings.html $540,000 was from his original rookie contract signed in 2001. As you can see, nothing states a salary escalator in the 5th yr.
