3rdand12 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Four Bills-related questions to start the Combine http://www.wgr550.com/pages/22501988.php?contentType=4&contentId=18469633 decent piece : ) If anyone is interested here is an article I wrote about Notable Buffalo Bills Combine Performances since 2006. http://buffalowdown.com/2016/02/23/notable-buffalo-bills-combine-performances/ It is an interesting thing to consider perhaps? How close Darby and Gilmore ran the 40 and then how they look on the field. I have never seen such make up speed as Darby showed. Thanks Dennis!
YoloinOhio Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) 247 lb for Henry? Will be very interesting to see his 40 time.i hope he blazes. That way he might get drafted higher than projected and bump someone down for us @nfl_cfb Derrick Henry was surprised at 247-lb weigh-in. "That will be down by tonight." Says he wants to play at 241, 242. Surprised? These guys weigh themselves constantly before the combine. Edited February 24, 2016 by YoloinOhio

YoloinOhio Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 UCLA RB Paul Perkins: 5'10/208 lbs. 31 5/8" arms. 9" hands.
thebandit27 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 @movethesticks Germain Ifedi (OT Texas A&M) 6'5 3/4 324 36 inch arms Ronnie Stanley 6'5 3/4 312 35 5/8 inch arms Jack Conklin 6'5 3/4 308 35 inch arms Taylor Decker 6'7 310 33 3/4 inch arms Great arm length for Ronnie and Jack...I'll be interested to see how they bench. It's really tough for guys with long arms to put up good bench numbers, so if they hit the low-20's, that's going to be enough to tell me they're in the weight room like they should be.

Are Decker's arms too short for a OT?
thebandit27 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Are Decker's arms too short for a OT? I wouldn't say that they're too short per se...they're on the short side of the typical tackle length (usually you want 33-1/2" or above). Again though, if he shows the ability to gain extension and has solid strength, I don't think it'll knock him down much.
YoloinOhio Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) Rex at 2:15 on NFLN Whaley will be talking tomorrow but to buffalo media only (not at podium) It will be interesting to see if one or both are asked about Mario's comments from today Edited February 24, 2016 by YoloinOhio

YoloinOhio Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 (edited) Rex's Press conference at combine http://m.buffalobills.com/video/videos/Watch-Rex-Ryans-Full-Combine-Press-Conference-/86ebe40d-70d8-419a-b2d0-59bf4c7cd931 @tydunne Rex Ryan talked to LeSean McCoy the day after the incident. Said he's just standing by the team's statement. Rex Ryan said he is standing behind the statement the team released regarding Shady. Won't stand up here and speculate about things. Rex Ryan: "This offseason, we have a lot of tough decisions to make as an organization." Rex on Tyrod Taylor: "We know we have our starting quarterback. We have the right one." Rex- Tyrod entrenched as a starter at QB is a real positive for us in comparison to last year. Rex Ryan on non-Bills question: "I don't want to focus on anybody else's team. Especially the Patriots." Rex not thrilled with question on if he should let his front rush more on defense. "They played five games together." Rex on Watkins: "I think he'll be a perennial Pro Bowl-type player." @joebuscaglia #Bills HC Rex Ryan: I figured this out: I don't have all the answers. You realize that all of us (coaches) are smarter than one of us Rex says defensive communication got better by end of season, coach to player, and it was its best the last 2 games. Rex points to "communication" on defense being the difference the last two games, more than compromise. Asked if RB could be a draft priority for #Bills, Rex mentions selection of CB last year at position of "strength." #Bills HC Rex Ryan: I would love to have Mario back. How realistic that is, I'm not sure. There's a lot of contributing factors involved #Bills HC Rex Ryan: From all indications, our doctors feel great about Aaron Williams being fully healthy. It's up to him mentally. @mikerodak Rex Ryan says sarcastically, We were terrible. And I cant coach defense again, for some reason. I forgot the question." Rex Ryan mentioning salary cap multiple times today. Bills are fight against it, if not over. He says owners Terry and Kim Pegula would spend like the Yankees if NFL didn't have a cap. YoloinOhio Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 @tydunne Like before, Rex Ryan was defensive on his defense, joked about being a bad coach. He'll be chatting again w local reporters next hour.

YoloinOhio Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 No problem! Glad you liked it. Looking at combine trends is interesting - The avg 40-yd dash time of 4.79 at 2015 combine was slowest since 2012 when it was 4.82. Curious to see if it improves in 2016. Especially when s couple guys who don't think they are ready to run are waiting until their pro days.
