Homey D. Clown Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 He'll retire, anyone could see in that game he was a shell of his former self. He hit a few key passes, any maybe Carolina's defense was playing quite well, but Peyton usually dictates the game to defenses. not the other way around.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 the odds are stacked against him finishing a champion if he doesn't take this exit now.
Maury Ballstein Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 He's toast. Terrible performance in SB, unreal he got to win with play that lousy. 1-13 on 3rd down 141 yards passing. Woof.
KD in CA Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 He's toast. Terrible performance in SB, unreal he got to win with play that lousy. 1-13 on 3rd down 141 yards passing. Woof. Fortunately for him the other QB played even worse.
BarleyNY Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Shell of former self, HGH/PED accusations dogging him....seems obvious. Just has to wait for the post Super Bowl wave of season ticket sales to die down before announcing. Fortunately for him the other QB played even worse. Newton gave up toward the end, but his team let him down up until then. He actually played well, all things considered, until he quit. He deserves to be dogged for quitting, but his team let him down too.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) He'd be nuts not to. Then all we need is Brady to retire and the long national nightmare is over Edited February 8, 2016 by joesixpack
26CornerBlitz Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Peyton Manning should and will ride off into the sunset so he doesn't embarrass himself. He's got nothing left to prove to anyone as one of the greatest to ever lace them up.
LB3 Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 I hope he retires. He doesn't need to be a backup QB to end his career.
GunnerBill Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 (edited) Yea he will. I actually think it was the classy thing to do last night not to announce it straight away and hog the limelight. If Peyton stand on the podium and says "that was the last ride" it risked overshadowing one of the great Superbowl defensive displays. But he is done and he has been terrible for a year and a half. His team got him this ring but I don't begrudge him it because plenty of other years he played well enough and didnt get there. Edited February 8, 2016 by GunnerBill
BuffaloBill Posted February 9, 2016 Author Posted February 9, 2016 Being benched this year should be incentive enough for him to go out on the top of the game.
KollegeStudnet Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Yes. If he doesn't, he is doing it for the money, so he could franchise more Pappa John's in the Midwest
Dr.Sack Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Wow 99% unanimous on TBD, hell has officially frozen over. The curse has been lifted.

K-9 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 So few get to go out in this fashion. He'd be an idiot if he didn't retire. GO BILLS!!!
hondo in seattle Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 (edited) The timing couldn't be more perfect. His skills are clearly declining. His best years are behind him and only further decline awaits him. He just won a SB. I can't imagine a scenario where he doesn't retire. He'll go out just like his boss.
