It happened to be a lawmaker lamenting the absence of religion in public places as she knew it growing up. It's not as if she proposed some law like you make it sound. One gator is enough here.

The article is interesting though. The author is quick to defend the first amendment (which I totally agree with) but uses the phrase "broadening of second amendment rights" rather than "protecting second amendment rights." Typical partisan hack.
