You can get 4 bottles for under $15... It's not great, but it gets the job done. Don't forget to get your deposit back on the cart.

I think I read somewhere that the winking owl won tastes tests over Charles Shaw wines. Anyway, isn't Aldi owned by the same people who own Trader Joes? It's probably the same stuff...different label. I agree, it isn't great if you are a real "wine person," but if you like 2 buck chuck then you will like the winking owl.

I've looked at it appears there are none here. I've not had Two Buck Chuck ($2.50 now) in a long time. I suggest you to some research at your local wine shops for good inexpensive wines. There was a wine shop by where we lived in SF. I would regularly try the "Staff Picks" that were under $10 and loved them. Not your typical Cabs, Chardonnay or Pinot. I found some really obscure wines and varietals from Spain, Portugal, South America, the Southen Rhone etc I loved. It was cool to walk out with a case for under $100 when my wine clubs from Sonoma regularly cost me $300 for half a case.

The Poojer Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 i have often found that reaching out to the wine store employees is one of the most valuable assets when buying wine, in my experience they seem to revel in showing you wines under $20/15/10 that knock your socks off rather than pointing you to $50 and above because they are highly rated on some rating board. Chef Jim Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 TJ's has been owned by Aldi's since 1979. Actually I've looked closer and Aldi's doesn't own TJ's. It's held in Theo Albrecht's trust who owned both chains. It looks like when he died it stayed in the family trust.

Best Player Available Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Beaver stew To each there own. I prefer the Beaver Bites.
Gugny Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Saw dust, from the wooden pallets they use as shelves.
Marv's Neighbor Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 We have a new store about :10 from my house. I don't see a reason to go back. It's very small and reminds me of grocery discount stores from 30+ years ago. Very unremarkable!
PastaJoe Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Went in there for some Christmas party snacks. They had some organic salsa that was quite good. Just remember to bring your own bags.

That is now an automatic thing here in CA. At first it was a pain in the butt but it's pretty nice not having those plastic bag blowing around all over the place.

I think one of the customer service supervisors at Hannaford is onto me. When I bag my own groceries, I put very few things in each bag so I can up my poop bag inventory. Whenever this guy is working, he practically trips over himself on his way to bag my groceries. Prick.
