SF Bills Fan Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Spanos just announced it. He wants to work out a stadium deal with San Diego. I figured this would happen .

26CornerBlitz Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Chargers announce they will stay in San Diego for 2016 season Chargers, Rams agree on parameters of deal to share LA stadium
Prickly Pete Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Well it's nice that the players are being gracious about it. How about the players show up? These Chargers sucked, and the fans have supported them for decades. Threatening the fans, "you better show up"....Dicks.
Playoff Bound Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Wow, that was a close one. Nothing like a lame duck team and a lousy one at that. I doubt the citizens of San Diego will pass a referendum for public financing.
Doc Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Well it's nice that the players are being gracious about it. They don't care where they play. It's a far bigger deal for the fans.
YoloinOhio Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Only reason Spanos is acting like they might stay beyond 2016 is to try to convince fans to buy in for another year. What a joke. They'd be gone already if their Carson project with the Raiders got approved.

YoloinOhio Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Actually, I heard Kroenke is making moving into his new Kroenkeland onerous for them. yeah I know - they really don't want to be his tenant. They wanted to build a stadium together with the Raiders and share it down the middle Edited January 30, 2016 by YoloinOhio
FireChan Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 How about the players show up? These Chargers sucked, and the fans have supported them for decades. Threatening the fans, "you better show up"....Dicks. They didn't support them this year. SD fans can cry me a river. Go to the games. Ya'll made the playoffs two years ago and actually won one when you got there.
Marv's Neighbor Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I don't see anything much changing in one more year. The Chargers still want a stadium, paid for by the already over burdened California taxpayers. The fan support won't change, especially if they feel used/cornered by this extension.

Any move has nothing to do with fan support, and everything to do with local politics, and owner greed. The fans could sell out every game, and it wouldn't make ANY difference. Dr. Fong Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Actually, I heard Kroenke is making moving into his new Kroenkeland onerous for them. Why wouldn't he? Now that he has approval his focus is on getting LA to himself. By the end of all of this he might end up with the most valuable franchise in the NFL.

You're the one who brought up fan support. Not me. The players don't have anything to do with the move either, you know. Edited January 30, 2016 by FireChan
White Linen Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 It must be awful going through this as a fan. Totally sucks for them.
YoloinOhio Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 It must be awful going through this as a fan. Totally sucks for them. yep. I think they'd rather have closure than another year of not knowing what will happen.

But, but they have a franchise QB.
