Kirby Jackson Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 This is my favorite one yet from the NFL.com board on fanspeak...traded down with Titans who offered 2nd round 2 and 2 round 12 for 1st round 19. Traded down again 2nd 12 to 2nd 17 to pick up an extra 4th from the Colts, then traded up with the Titans to 3rd round pick 1 to nab Darron Lee... 33: R2P2 ILB REGGIE RAGLAND ALABAMA 48: R2P17 DT VERNON BUTLER LOUISIANA TECH 49: R2P18 WR LAQUON TREADWELL MISSISSIPPI 64: R3P1 OLB DARRON LEE OHIO ST. 117: R4P19 DE CHARLES TAPPER OKLAHOMA 139: R4P41 QB CARDALE JONES OHIO ST. 156: R5P17 OT JOE HAEG NORTH DAKOTA ST. 218: R6P43 DT D.J. John from Riverside Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I don't have the stats on Cousins but I do know that for the second half of last season he was consistently good. I'm not making the case that he is going to be an elite franchise qb. But I do believe that he is going to be a good franchise qb. The GM for the Skins franchised Cousins because they couldn't work out a long term deal. But in franchising him that certainly is an indication that they value him because placing that gilded tag on him is in itself a significant price to pay. With respect to TT's contract there is a primary reason not associated with the business side that Whaley has to consider: What caliber of a player is he? None of us know for sure until we see if he takes the next step up this year. As I have said on numerous postings I'm a Taylor advocate. But I still don't know for sure whether he takes the next step forward. If Whaley knew for sure that TT was a lock in moving forward in establishing himself as a very good starting qb he would have signed him sooner to a commensurate contract rather than wait because it would be cheaper. And how would you suggest they do that when they are didnt have the money to do it? Cut players to make the room and not sign plays to depth cheap deals as they have done? IMO the money just was not there

Kirby Jackson Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Its like playing Madden and thinking its real KJ...I couldn't believe it...Everytime I see something so good I think of the Seinfeld episode where George figures out how to get Bonds and Griffey.

Cut players to make the room and not sign plays to depth cheap deals as they have done? IMO the money just was not there The main point I am making with regards to TT is that the GM doesn't know what his long term value is at this point. If TT doesn't demonstrate that he can go through his progressions and complete passes in the middle of the field this season then his value is diminished. That's all I saying. I agree with you that the team is dealing with a tight cap situation so the GM is not in a position to tear up his current contract and lock him up even if he wanted to. But that isn't my point with respect to TT and Whaley. My point is simply Whaley doesn't know what his value is and this is the season he should find out what it is. We are not disagreeing. We are coming at the qb situation from two different perspectives. One deals with the contract and the other deals with the talent level.

boyst Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I would love for this dream to come true. Some of the best options available fell right to my lap, way later than they should. But, more recently I am seeing a lot of guys slide! NFL.com board. 19: R1P19 DE KEVIN DODD CLEMSON About the only DE worth drafting when our time comes up now that Oakman has some issues going on. Makes him more valuable, unfortunately. Maybe too valuable. 49: R2P18 OLB DARRON LEE OHIO ST. There is no way he falls to the second. But I have seen it multiple times in recent mocks. 80: R3P17 DT KENNY CLARK UCLA He is going to be nice to have in the middle, he or Henry would be good in rotational work with Dareus and Kyle Williams. Neither particularly quick like Dareus or Williams but both will be able to benefit. 117: R4P19 WR BRAXTON MILLER OHIO ST. Just had to pull the plug on him in the 4th. I really like Higgins from CO, though. 139: R4P41 CB JUSTON BURRIS N.C. STATE This guy is a natural football player and would be ideal as a 3rd option at CB. Maybe not full caliber starter potential but would be insurance if we did lose Gilmore. 156: R5P17 G SEBASTIAN TRETOLA ARKANSAS An option to work in at OG if Miller does not play better. Velasquez and Tretola would be great backup interior lineman (Velasquez can play OC). 192: R6P17 ILB JOSH FORREST KENTUCKY Intriguing prospect that could see time working in as a 34 ILB that in time could replace Manny Lawson. Capable of learning from Lawson, too. R18: R6P43 S K.J. DILLON WEST VIRGINIA He would see time on the field in his rookie year. He would be situation based and do well to help attack down field attacks.

boyst Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 No QB though. Absolute must in this draft is to get a project in the very least. there were a few there, but none worth drafting. the only few positions worth drafting in the later rounds are rbs, OL, or DL. some times wr. positiosn where you always need dpeth.

BuffaloHokie13 Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 4 LB's with the first 4 picks? and 7 out of 8. Lol. No way that will happen. I'd hope for a D-Lineman/pass rusher, QB, WR, OT or CB in the first round. Save LB to the middle/end rounds. it was a joke
