Because you are sold on the Bills QB situation. TT who gets injured and his side kick EJ. Are we forgetting about the Jacksonville game.

Stats lie. Try watching either NE game, game tape doesn't lie.

So you want me to cherry pick games?

ok

That makes so much sense.....along with blowing it all up with a rookie first round QB

Glad your not running my favorite team

Seems like you are the one cherry picking. You only watch TT "good" games. Would rather have a chance at a franchise QB, then play it safe with an average QB who cannot beat NE. I am glad YOU are not running the team.

Well good news on my side.....the bills management is not as stupid as you are.

They are not going to take a QB that just came off of an efficient year and trade him for a complete unknown that needs work.

And if you want to take a "chance" go to a casino and knock yourself out. The bills are not gonna do that.

Bison, I'll throw in my two cents, but am not going to debate back and forth, so you'll probably disagree and that's ok. I just don't understand not just you, but a bunch of guys who want to trade the first QB since Kelly who had almost a 100 QB rating, almost 3 to 1 TD/INT ratio, and only was out of two games because of an illegal horsecollar. Most QB's are playing hurt at different points of the year.

You mention TT is too small and infer gets hurt, but one of my favorite NFL QB's I can't remember playing a full season in awhile in Rothlesberger. He hangs in the pocket too long thinking he's superman for 10 years and inevitably gets knocked otu a game or two each year. He is also dynamic and a winner.

TT needs to keep improving with throwing over the middle, releasing faster, probably seeing the field faster, but has also done a lot right. Why even entertain any trade when he could be our next franchise guy. This year will tell us. Lynch and just about every other QB is a guess. no one is Cam Newton or Andrew Luck.

Not slamming you Bison, i just respectfully disagree. You've mentioned the Patriots, and was sacked 8 times in the first game. He also engineered a comeback that was one throw away of a possible tie in the last minute of the game. And, by the way, it was his second NFL start. Has anyone seen Peyton Manning's stats his first year. They went 3-13. He developed. Rarely do you see a rookie, and just because he carried a clip board for four years, he never played. This is the year we'll know.

Whaley is doing the right thing. Wait and see, Watch to see the improvement, If it happens i won't complain to a starting QB contract. If he doesn't we can get creative next year in the draft. If TT really sucks as some state, then we're drafting high next year.

I used NFL.com and in the first round I focused on BPA who had visited the Bills. I don't think they will take someone in first who hasn't visited based on their history. I could have also taken Vernon Butler there but he was ranked significantly below Ragland on this board so went with Ragland not knowing what the Bills board looks like.

First of all I am not saying that Tyrod is not a good quarterback. He is a good quarterback that can lead the Bills into the playoffs. He is NOT a franchise quarterback and will never get to or win the Superbowl. He is small and will get dinged up and will struggle to play a full season. That puts EJ under center. Plus his contract ends this year and He will be asking for a contract that he is not worth. I believe Paxton Lynch can be a franchise QB, is durable, and will be under a rookie contract for three years. If your looking for a wild card berth and a quick exit Tyrod is your man. If you dream at a chance at a Superbowl WIN, you roll the dice on Paxton Lynch. The Bills met with Lynch and Greg Roman had dinner with him. Do the Math.

I agree with the sentiment that you don't stick with a guy who has a low ceiling - you roll the dice on someone who could be a long term franchise QB.

However:

- I'm not sure yet that I know where Tyrod's ceiling is.

- I put the chances that Paxton Lynch is going to be a franchise QB at less than 25%. He has bust written all over him for me.

I think that there are 2 issues. The first is that we don't know what Tyrod's ceiling is. The second, and you even admit that he is a good QB, is that you initially proposed trading a "good QB" for a 3rd round defensive lineman that was arrested for soliciting a prostitute less than 6 months ago. Would any team EVER trade a "good starting QB" for a 3rd round DL with character issues? The answer is -of course not. That is the reason that you took so much heat in this thread.

Lynch is liked much more by NFL teams than he is by the media at present. He's going much higher than most think. The Bills would need a substantial trade up to get him. He won't be ready for a year or two. He's raw and certainly a bust risk, but his ceiling is sky high. He will never be a read option QB, but his ability as a vertical offense QB is actually a very good fit for the Bills.

I think Lynch will be gone before 19 and I would not trade up to get him. Taylor makes that decision possible. Gamble on a QB 4th rd or later would be fine.

I have concerns with Raggland, but would be okay with the pick. I love the offensive duo from Ohio State, and Travis Powell is going to be a draft steal for someone. Cravens in the 2nd round I also like. Lots of smart, athletic players in your mock.

thanks - Cravens and Tyvis are my guys to help play the double TEs from NE

I'm not a huge proponent of taking Ragland either but he's a plug and play type who I can see Rex wanting as his new David Harris.

I am going to piggy back off Machine Gun's post and apologize for my post. You are most certainly entitled to your opinion. My thoughts

You keep saying "Tyrod is a good quarterback...but"

Well actually there is no but....because even good quarterbacks dont grow on trees. There is a shortage of even "good" qbs in the league your making a determination on whether Tyrod Taylor can grow into a franchise QB after ONE YEAR OF STARTING PLAY. Dont you think that it is a little foolish to trade what you pretty much know you have for a chance at something that historically tells you is a complete crapshoot? By your own admission you think TT can take the bills to the playoffs as a "good" qb. If the defense was holding up THEIR end......there is no telling how far this team will go....

You keep calling TT a "small" quarterback.....he is fact is short not small.......and has a similar biuld to Russell Wilson....is anyone saying Russell Wilson should not be a franchise qb? No....because he is a playmaker just like Tyrod Taylor. Then you call Paxton Lynch "durable" the guy has not played a down in the NFL and your making predictions on this which I just dont get....your HOPING that Paxton Lynch is durable and a good qb under fire.

You make just too may predictions and call them as facts in this thread......

I trade a "good QB" for a 2nd & 4th round pick all day everyday to get a chance at a Franchise QB.
