RyanC883 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Perhaps we can post our mock drafts to the board every Friday and comment on them. For consistency, perhaps we can all use Fanspeak with it's draft board. Will be interesting to see the risers and fallers. I do not watch a ton of college football, but here is my draft and analysis: R1P19 OLB JAYLON SMITH NOTRE DAME (injury concern, but well worth the wait. Great and versatile). R2P18 DT SHELDON RANKINS LOUISVILLE (will be lucky if he is still here in the second round) R3P17 OLB SCOOBY WRIGHTARIZONA (guy who can conceivably start right away at LB. If not, quality depth) R4P19 C MAX TUERK SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (has played multiple OL positions for USC. Is athletic, Good all-around backup for O-line that is very thin in terms of depth.). R5P17 S TYVIS POWELL OHIO STATE (great tackling safety) R6P17 WR BRALON ADDISON OREGON (nope, not a "big" WR at 5-10. But the guy is versatile and can score. A replacement/compliment for Harvin as Roman's "gadget guy"). Welcome any comments.
Nanker Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Well, okay. Take THAT Draft Day... I MOCK you! You heard me. Mock! Mock! Mock!
NastyNateSoldiers Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Where can I sign up for this draft. Im.really hoping that Jaylon Smith makes it to #19 but I highly doubt it. Btw Scooby is gonna be a good football player.3rd round is a steal for this kid I love your mock but it would even be better if we can get De'Runna in the 4th.

I don't think he was available then, or I was looking for some O-line help. Either way, I could easily swap De'Runna for Max in the 4th. Scooby would be a huge steal. My whole draft is basically steals. I think, lucky for us, the draft is deep at defense this year! Edited January 29, 2016 by RyanC883
H2o Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Scooby doesn't make it to the 3rd Round. He MIGHT make it to the 2nd.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 These fanspeak drafts are fun, but man are they unrealistic. Rankins just tore up Senior Bowl week...was basically unblockable like Aaron Donald a few years back. I would soil my tightie-whities if he fell to us in the 2nd.
Blokestradamus Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Scooby doesn't make it to the 3rd Round. He MIGHT make it to the 2nd. Just wait until the Combine. He'll be this years Paul Dawson.
YoloinOhio Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Just wait until the Combine. He'll be this years Paul Dawson. i don't remember what happened with him at combine. Stock up or down? Btw - did he do anything this year? Bengals, right? Totally forgot about him.

Totally forgot about him. Stock dropped like a lead balloon after running a 4.93. If you want to see how bad he tested, this is him against his peers with more than a decade worth of archived data - http://www.mockdraftable.com/player/4908/ Dawson had 12 tackles on 34 snaps this year. Played a lot on ST. Obviously Scooby is a little bigger but he'll test poorly. His 40 shouldn't be Dawson terrible but it might be in the 4.75 - 4.8 range. His 3-cone will be bad too, which is far more important. Like Dawson, he has "play speed" through instincts but he might find himself off the boards of teams that rely heavily on metrics. I like him in the 4th and beyond. Edited January 30, 2016 by Blokestradamus

IMO I feel better about my ILB depth if it's Scooby and Ty Powell over Reddick/Tarpley, for sure. Not the first ILB I'd target by any means but I'll find him a spot on my 53.

Tsaikotic Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 this is what i got from just messing around : 19: R1P19 OLB JAYLON SMITH NOTRE DAME 49: R2P18 OLB SCOOBY WRIGHT ARIZONA 80: R3P17 DE CARL NASSIB PENN STATE 114: R4P19 WR DE'RUNNYA WILSON MISSISSIPPI STATE 144: R5P17 S TYVIS POWELL OHIO STATE 174: R6P17 CB JAMES BRADBERRY SAMFORD
Blokestradamus Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Elandon Roberts from Houston! He's the Energizer Bunny. Size and experience probably puts him closer to the UDFA pile but there's something about him. I really hope he gets invited to the Combine. He's definitely earned the right to be there this year.

The job he did spying Keenan Reynolds in the Navy game was really impressive

Blokestradamus Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 These are my favourite targets for the top 2 rounds. FA will change things slightly but I'm anticipating a veteran ILB. After that, a guard who played tackle in college, a decent WR, my favourite TE and a nasty, mean dude to potentially make Urbik expendable. Would heart this draft. R1P19 OLB NOAH SPENCE EASTERN KENTUCKY R2P18 DT AUSTIN JOHNSON PENN STATE R3P17 G DENVER KIRKLAND ARKANSAS R4P19 WR RASHARD HIGGINS COLORADO STATE R5P17 TE TYLER HIGBEE WESTERN KENTUCKY R6P17 C KYLE FRIEND TEMPLE
