Pirate Angel Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 (edited) I bet she gets a big roll of tar paper put to her by week 5 Edited January 21, 2016 by BILLriant
Wayne Cubed Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I am just pointing out that REX does his best in the off season grabbing the headlines and once the season starts he has become a laughing stock as coach. That is my point and it isn't a point derived from his one year of coaching the Bills. Enjoy the Off Season. It's quite obvious from your responses you haven't actually read or followed how this all played out. Rex Informed the league of the coaching change. He didn't hold a press conference and announce it, like Arians did. There was no initial press release from the Bills. No tweet. No message.Rex went about it the way he would with any other coaching change. It was only when a media member was reading through it that someone actually picked up on what was happening. Then everyone jumped on it and the Bills scrambled a bit to release a statement etc. I'd hardly call the way it went down as Rex trying to win the offseason or "grabbing headlines."
Direhard Fan Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I really don't care what gender works for the team. Does the employee make it better? If the answer is yes than great. My experience in retail and sales for 40 years showed me that women only got a chance to lead after about 30 of those. But they taught me everything I knew. There a lot of smart cookies out there. Some even have nice feet I guess. We had a terrible Special Team this year compared to other years. That has to fall on someone. She can only help the situation.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 @billsupdates Cleveland radio host has issue with #Bills hiring female assistant coach http://ow.ly/XnsKB
moshermw Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 She's from the Syracuse area.... http://www.syracuse.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2016/01/how_did_new_buffalo_bills_assistant_kathryn_smith_become_the_first_full-time_fem.html So still can't see her feet in that pic but - at least in 2001 - she has some nice wheels....
Leroi Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Congrats!! She earned this position. It had nothing to do with her gender, however, still significant. Imo
dayman Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 "What coach!? Why did you take me out?!!" "......you know what you did"
John in Jax Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 My experience in retail and sales for 40 years showed me that women only got a chance to lead after about 30 of those. But they taught me everything I knew. What does the bolded statement above mean? You seem to be saying that only women are good teachers/mentors at retail and sales, as YOU personally learned nothing in those career fields from men. Please elaborate, as I am very curious about this. Thanks.
Augie Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 OMG, I can't believe no one has accused Russ Brandon yet of orchestrating this hire to boost season ticket sales with women. You people are slipping. I thought it was so obvious it was going to be a separate thread.
Saxum Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 @viccarucci Fitting #Bills hire #NFL's 1st full-time female assistant coach. Linda Bogdan, Ralph Wilson's daughter, was its 1st full-time female scout. Until she is called a XXXX by Bill Polian she will not officially break the barrier.
Andy1 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Congrats to Kathryn. I hope she has a long and successful career with the the Bills. I trust Rex's judgement that she is qualified and motivated to succeed in her new position. I feel allot better about this than Rex hiring his brother. I'm proud of the Bills for giving her an opportunity. Hopefully she does well for the Bills and opens other opportunities for women in the NFL.
Saxum Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Rah Rah Rah.. Sis Boom Bah. Go Bills!!! The fact that we are even talking about this benign hire proves my point. REX OWNS THE OFF-SEASON!!! The fact that you are talking about it shows Rex owns you.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Kathryn Smith taking pioneer coaching status in stride Bills Quality Control-Special Teams coach Kathryn Smith is the first female assistant coach in NFL history. But Smith believes performing well in her new role will do the most for women in a male-dominated business.
Saxum Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 as far as ticket sales go, based on this thread, I think they lost a few. Doubt it except maybe one game a year when troll's team is playing.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 @JohnMurphyShow One on one with #Bills Special Teams Quality Control Coach Kathryn Smith 810pm on the radio show

Bookie Man Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Can't believe no one predicted this in the BOLD predictions thread.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 @BuffaloBillsPR Kathryn Smith on being named the @buffalobills quality control-special teams coach:
Kelly the Dog Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 This site needs a good Quality Control Coach of either gender.
Augie Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 This hire about to make the NBC nightly news. Rex does love attention.
