BillsPride12 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Just for something different, I don't recall this ever being discussed here or at least anytime too recently. In my lifetime the first three guys that I think of are Kelly, Favre, and Big Ben. If I was ranking them I would probably have to go with #4 as my #1
Fadingpain Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Elway was a tough and super competitive guy in that mold. Heck, Dan Marino was tough too. He hated to be hit but I don't exactly remember him as being frail.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Archie Manning, Jim Plunkett, and Joe Kapp.

He hated to be hit but I don't exactly remember him as being frail. Marino was a whiner. He was awesome with his quick release, but I've never heard of him being tough. His release was so fast, he rarely was hit. Now the other guys on the thread like Stabler, Plunket, Kelly, Elway. Those were tough guys.
YoloinOhio Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I agree with the OP on those 3. I also add Andrew Luck.
chris heff Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Tough to beat the old timers in the toughness category. Y.A. Tittle Johnny Unitas Kenny Stabler Joe Ferguson (that's right) As soon as I saw he topic I thought old timers. Those guys could legally get the crap kicked out of them. Ferguson playoff game against Chargers on a broken leg.
jr1 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 “Meredith was really tough. He got beat up so bad in his early years. His last game, up in Cleveland, he came out of the hospital to play with a broken rib, a punctured lung, and pneumonia. I saw Meredith's nose broken so bad that it spread all over his face. Looked like a raccoon.” —Bob Lilly

boyst Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) mcnabb, of the modern era, was pretty damned tough Edited January 19, 2016 by Boyst62
billsintaiwan Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Bobby Layne. Though he was hammered most of the time.
Hapless Bills Fan Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Tough to beat the old timers in the toughness category. Y.A. Tittle Johnny Unitas Kenny Stabler Joe Ferguson (that's right) Got to disagree about Joe Ferguson. Hit him a couple times and he'd get antsy and start slinging the ball away
1st Ammendment NoMas Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Brett Favre is my #1 Terry Bradshaw was a tough SOB, even in the The Cannonball Run. Kenny "The Snake Stabler" should on the list. I thought Fran Tarkington was pretty tough and some would say Phil Simms cuz like a Timex watch he took a licking and kept on ticking.
stinky finger Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 (edited) Marc Wilson I believe he's the only remaining QB not mentioned. Edited January 19, 2016 by billsoverdue
vincec Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Steve McNair belongs in this discussion Yeah he does.
QuoteTheRaven83 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Tom Brady. I've never seen him complain or whine after being hit...
