moshermw Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Summary: 1. Played at VT with TT. (is VT all-time WR - broke Antonio Freeman records). 2. Started for Packers 3. Bills moving to bigger WR - Boykin is 6'2" 220. http://bills.buffalonews.com/2016/01/06/bills-sign-wr-jarrett-boykin-wholl-play-wide-receiver-in-2016/
boyst Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 its strange thinking 6'2 220 is big for a wr. it doesn't seem that big.
Nanker Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 its strange thinking there's no talk of The Bills moving to LA.
chef4131 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I always worry when a team looks at Wrs based on size instead of ability-in 2008 we wanted to draft a wr with size, so in round 2 we pick James Hardy instead of Desean Jackson

artmalibu Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 With Harvin and Goodwin most likely (hopefully) not coming back new WRs need to come from somewhere. Early darft picks should be used on other positions imo..
YoloinOhio Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 4.74 40 eekI'm more interested in his route running and hands than his speed

moshermw Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 Definitely won't take the top off the D. Is smart, smooth as silk, great hands, big, strong and tough. Like the article said, someone to go over the middle where TT was a little sparse. Happy to play and is good on special teams, too.
billykaykay Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 its strange thinking 6'2 220 is big for a wr. it doesn't seem that big. i'm 6' 1" 235. Most of the weight is hanging over my belt. Just kidding. Anyway, all I want to know is if the kid has good hands.

With the lack of depth at WR and pre-built chemistry with TT he has a good chance to make the team if he does well in TC. Edited January 17, 2016 by YoloinOhio

I guess if two guys were equal in production and skill, maybe I'd give the nod to the taller/bigger guy. Otherwise, show me who can play. Boykin's 4.7 makes you wonder how well he can create separation against NFL DBs.

BaaadThingsMan Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Boykin did actually have some 40+ yard plays for GB a couple years ago despite his speed. In the few games I saw him he played well
White Linen Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I think the point of the signing is trying to find a helpful player without spending a lot. It's been done a lot lately at the position as evidenced by the playoff teams today.
PO16FFS Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Good luck Boykin. and in other news, a Moose just crossed a northern ontario highway.
