Pete
Dan Carpenter is guaranteed $2,150,000 this season. We do not need deadcap money for a rookie !@#$ing kicker. As mentioned, we need NT, DE, OLB, LB G, S, WR, QB- why the !@#$ would you waste a pick on a kicker?
Blokestradamus
With our holes at DE, DT, LB, CB, SS, FS, OL, and WR, I don't see how we can spend a pick on a kicker unless it's our last one. I think we're better off picking up a castoff or UDFA. I wouldn't use anything but the 6th round compensatory pick. I'm fine with a Carpenter/Gay combo if there's no way to get the right man at the right price. Notable guys on the market (probably in the too expensive range) - Josh Brown (83.7% FG rate, meh touchback leg), Greg Zuerlein (78.2% FG made, coming off an awful 2015, decent touchback leg), Randy Bullock (80.6% FG made, meh touchback leg). Only guy that might've come minimum salary cheap is Kyle Brindza and he ruptured his Achilles a few weeks ago. Won't be back to the game before October. It's slim pickings out there at the moment. Maybe that changes as rosters get cut down in preseason. Dan Carpenter is guaranteed $2,150,000 this season. We do not need deadcap money for a rookie !@#$ing kicker. As mentioned, we need NT, DE, OLB, LB G, S, WR, QB- why the !@#$ would you waste a pick on a kicker? Dan's guaranteed money is $1.075m. Cutting him saves about $1.5m. Why wouldn't you 'waste' a pick on a guy that can be an impact starter? That frees up a roster spot AND saves you money in the process.
Canadian Bills Fan
Think of the money we will save by having one player that can do both kicking jobs instead of 2 players that can only do one CBF
26CornerBlitz
Is this kicker worth a second/third-round pick? Roberto Aguayo entered the NFL draft after his junior year, which isn't abnormal for an All-American -- unless he's a kicker. Now some are projecting him to go in Round 2. Would you pick him that high?
ALF
I was for taking Aguayo in the 4th rd till I read this write up http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/roberto-aguayo?id=2555408

Blokestradamus
Spent more time than I'd care to admit watching UCLA K Ka'imi Fairbairn. You can do likewise thanks to @alex_sibo if you're so inclined - http://draftbreakdown.com/video/kaimi-fairbairn-vs-all-teams-2015/ Really impressive kicker. When he's in a rhythm, he's incredibly metronomical. Confirmed my belief that he's the best kicker in the draft. Occasionally gets his plant foot too close to the ball which acts like a hooked golf shot for a right hander, naturally draws it left. Think of Blair Walsh in the playoffs in January. His 60 yarder vs Cal is a special strike, would've been good from 65. Special mention to his holder, Jerry Neuheisel. Kid bailed them out from a few dodgy snaps last year. Blokestradamus
You're hardcore, my man. Scouting kickers... I just love playing up to the 'You Brits and your kicking sports' stereotypes. If anyone is curious about proper technique, take a look at this from Chuck Zodda of Inside The Pylon (http://insidethepylon.com/football-101/football-basics/2015/03/02/basic-placekicking-technique-how-to-kick-field-goals/). Blokestradamus
Stretching this thread out to include punters. Tom Hackett of Utah is a superstar. I love Colton Schmidt but I'd use draft capital on this kid. I'm genetically designed at despise Australians and I still adore him. You're right about Hackett though... Tom, not Nathaniel.

Blokestradamus
Drew Kaser of Texas A&M has an absolutely incredible leg. Only failed to register a punt of 50+ yards in two games in 2015. Against Ole Miss, he uncorked one from the back of his endzone that went 71-72 yards in the air. There's a good half dozen draftable specialists in this class (not including kick/punt returners of which there is at least 2). Great skill in both placement and bounce. I love Schmidt though and think he can be the punter long term. I still stand by my assertion that a lot of the kicking problems last year were on poor snaps from Sanborn.
ndirish1978
Thanks man! I would love the Bills to draft Fairbairn Like really love it I don't think it can be emphasized enough that we are carrying 3 kickers on the gameday roster. Picking this kid up would save us a roster spot cause we could get rid of Gay
