26CornerBlitz Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 @WGR550 With Marrone shut out of coaching gigs, should we still be mad? http://bit.ly/1ZtKLeJ
Beerball Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Oh, I thought you had an actual reason. My bad.Consider this fair warning. Your snarkiness, condescending attitude and general trollish behavior has worn thin with more than one person here. Your thoughts on Marrone, Ryan & Whaley are well known and I don't think that we need to be hearing about them well into the future. If you care to carry on conversations on these topics I'd recommend you do so via PM. Your replies on other topics are welcomed, but, your delivery needs to improve. You may get a chuckle out of getting a rise out of someone you don't know, but, as noted above it wears thin. In short, knock it off. What were Marrone's unreasonable demands? If reports are to be believed retaining assistants and more control over the 53. Before you ask...no, go look it up yourself.

What coach wouldn't--oh yeah Pettine. I love how he publicly hinted he would have to fire some of his guys to keep his job...then they canned him! As for more control over the 53, every coach wants that. Also, he likely dodn't get along with/trust/wasn't impressed with Whaley.

Hapless Bills Fan Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Because Pegula is a guy who loves to be loved and most everyone at OBD thought Marrone was an arrogant ass and treated people in the building like crap. Plus most everyone with eyes could see that Marrones alleged expertise was a failure and what he stayed away from was the strength of the team. Kelly, I hadn't heard before that "most everyone at OBD thought Marrone was an arrogant ass and treated people in the building like crap". Can you expand a little bit how you know that?

Doc Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 First winning record in years. Would Rex get an extension in this circumstance, let alone get his failed coach brother an overt patronage job? The winning record was a mirage. If the Pats had needed that season-ender, the Bills would have been 8-8.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 The winning record was a mirage. If the Pats had needed that season-ender, the Bills would have been 8-8. Regardless of the final 2014 regular season record, any enjoyed success was attributable to Marrone's innovative thinking, imaginative offense, and his well coached OL that played on a consistently high level.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Kelly, I hadn't heard before that "most everyone at OBD thought Marrone was an arrogant ass and treated people in the building like crap". Can you expand a little bit how you know that? It was widely reported after Marrone left that he treated people in the building like crap, and wasn't nice to the secretaries and janitors and people like that. That the Saint Doug story was true and indicative of him. Several players including Preston brown and Jerry Hughes and Dareus publicly bitched about what an ass he was. Then reporters and coaches who worked for him or covered him said the same thing.

papazoid Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Marrone's best shot at a head coaching gig will be to go back to the college game.
Mr. WEO Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 The winning record was a mirage. If the Pats had needed that season-ender, the Bills would have been 8-8. Rex lost to 3 of the 4 NFCE teams. Was that part of a mirage as well?
Doc Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Rex lost to 3 of the 4 NFCE teams. Was that part of a mirage as well? What does that have to do with Marrone?
Mr. WEO Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 What does that have to do with Marrone? You were comparing the records of the two Bills HC's...saying they were equivalent but for a "mirage" victory over the pats.
Doc Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 You were comparing the records of the two Bills HC's...saying they were equivalent but for a "mirage" victory over the pats. No, I was talking about Marrone having a winning record. Most everyone realized it was because the Cheaters rested their starters for a half. But that's likely how Sexton has been selling Marrone. And I've made no bones about Rex being a disappointment for the Bills this past season.

Are you one of those posters who really thinks a team is strongly (or at all) influenced by guys who are paid specifically to hype every one of their clients? If you are, that would make 2 of you, by my count.

As in Marrone's case, I have no doubt Sexton has at least 1 client on every team and therefore has an in with management on every team, and touted the "he had the first winning season in Buffalo in 10 years" line you dropped. Because there is no other plausible explanation for him getting any HC'ing interviews.

But sure, if Brady and the Pats needed that game there is no way they could have scored 9 more points in just a half at home! Obviously. Btw Gronk and Edelman didn't play in the 1st half either.
