boyst Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 i know this is out of the box, but if some governments were able to get Anonymous to go against ISIS than it would not last long. The methods Anonymous use are much like ISIS but in a much more controlled and specific manner. I am much more terrified of Anonymous than ISIS.

You're talking about putting the premiere hacker organization up against a group with a technological sense so poorly developed that they can't even successfully find Mecca with a compass. What, exactly, is Anonymous going to attack?

What, exactly, is Anonymous going to attack? i am more familiar with some of the efforts of Anonymous than you or some others I guess. Many, many hours spent at 4chan and other depraved sites. Anonymous isn't just the 'hackers' people think of and they have gone about finding/locating/tracking individuals. they have tracked down child abusers, animal abusers, etc. they have a following with wannabees and others that actually carry out some things. anonymous would be able track down these people from videos and posts they make. i'm sure you've noticed that the fbi and gov aren't too good at monitoring facebook and such - anonymous could do this much better and track down the individuals threatening our security. isis is pretty active, as well, on twitter and the internet. most people odn't realize it. there are about 5-6 active isis twitters at any given time that are followed rapidly, taken down and brought back up. isis is more technological than people would believe, not advanced, but capable.

Anonymous already "declared war" on ISIS... they don't need to be let off the leash, they're already off it and have been shutting down Twitter accounts as well as other things. I'm not sure what more you're suggesting they can/should do? Working hand in hand with a government kind of goes against their ethos. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/anonymous-isis_5649610ae4b045bf3defc173
KD in CA Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 So not Presbyterians? It sounds like workplace violence.
