Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 If he doesn't get charged at all would think it would be tough to warrant 4 games. Not arguing that he doesn't deserve it, but without much evidence likely would get appealed and reduced down to two?? Roger is in a tough spot, does he dole out smaller suspensions in hopes they don't get over turned, but then look soft or does he still go for big ones and watch them all get lowered. I suppose you can argue he's better to go high so after the appeal there is still something left of a punishment. It looked pretty obvious he threw a punch from the video, so even if not indicted, he should get a 4 game suspension. That's four game checks. If he doesn't learn from that, he's an idiot.

Doc Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Rice was charged and indicted for aggravated assault before Rog did anything. Yeah. I misread "charged" as convicted.

I give him credit for jumping in so quickly.

There will be more JM incidents before this is over... and I don't think it will be good.
aristocrat Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 His dad really just should shut the trust fund down. Cut the money off and see what happens.
ddaryl Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 and can you all remember how many Manziel fans insisted he was going to tear up the NFL and the rest of us were just morons and haters
zonabb Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 and can you all remember how many Manziel fans insisted he was going to tear up the NFL and the rest of us were just morons and haters Oh, so you knew he was an alcoholic, not a college kid having a good time and drinking a few pops but you're assessment was based on your diagnosis of alcoholism, got it. Where is your medical practice located?
Canadian Bills Fan Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I remember the Bulldeog on WGR saying (at the time) how he thought JM should be the #1 overall pick of the draft and that he was a franchise QB Man Im glad he doesnt run the Bills lol CBF

Beyond all of the character and behavior concerns, his game simply does not translate to any kind of sustained success at the NFL level.
ddaryl Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 his game simply does not translate to any kind of sustained success at the NFL level. I agree I never thought even sober he was going to be much of an NFL QB... but his off field actions should of been plenty enough to keep any team form drafting him so early

Captain Hindsight Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 and can you all remember how many Manziel fans insisted he was going to tear up the NFL and the rest of us were just morons and haters I actually thought he had a chance after this past season. A few games he looked pretty dynamic and displayed better accuracy than I expected. The he started hitting the bottle again.... Oh, so you knew he was an alcoholic, not a college kid having a good time and drinking a few pops but you're assessment was based on your diagnosis of alcoholism, got it. Where is your medical practice located? To me it seemed like he liked the spotlight more than football and that was concerning. I'm sure many successful QBs in college enjoyed having a few drinks, but I had never seen anyone on an inflatable swan before or possibly doing coke in a bathroom at a club. I wouldn't have used a first rounder on him. Not a chance. Far too many red flags for me to spend that high a resource

Where is your medical practice located? No, but we all thought his attitude and playing ability would prevent him from succeeding in the NFL
Hapless Bills Fan Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Oh, so you knew he was an alcoholic, not a college kid having a good time and drinking a few pops but you're assessment was based on your diagnosis of alcoholism, got it. Where is your medical practice located? People who thought Manziel wouldn't succeed didn't base this belief on an armchair diagnosis of alcoholism. They based it on his running a very collegiate offense that might not transfer well to the pros and on scouting reports like this: "The way we talked about him in meetings, the kid never put in the time he needed to -- studying film, organizing workouts, 7-on-7 workouts -- he didn't do it," said one NFC scout with a Southeastern Conference focus. "His thing would be he's going to show up on Saturdays, 'I'm a gamer.' He'd show up for practices and games but that's about it. Johnny thought he was an NFL superstar before he came [into the league]." One A&M source said Manziel's attitude is catching up to him. Manziel was lax in preparation unless the Aggies were playing a top-tier opponent, such as Alabama or Auburn, when "you couldn't get him out of the film room," the source said. Against Rice or Sam Houston State, not so much." QB who don't run a pro-style offense in college can succeed in the NFL, but it usually takes them time and a lot of effort. By all reports, Manziel wasn't willing to put in either in college, so why would one expect him to put in both after he's paid?

QuoteTheRaven83 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 His play is borderline NFL level his attitude and behaviour is way below that line. He is what I thought he was. Have you even seen him play? Wouldn't call it borderline NFL level at all. Borderline Canadien Football League level and right up there with Arena Football League level.
