I would disagree. Battered women in many cases tend to stay or return back to their tormentor. It's probably more the norm than not.

Norm in your case = common. "Not normal" in my case meant not mentally well. There's a difference. That's why there's a name for it - "battered woman syndrome".

I think "mental illness" refers more to him than her.

By the looks of her, I'd say she has "daddy issues." And beyond that, JM's her meal ticket and the problem there is sometimes the meal you get served is $#!^.

@mikeleslieWFAA

High-ranking #Cowboys source said earlier this week he "doubts" they'd pursue Manziel.

Now, after today's report, Dallas is official out.

At this point, the only thing noteworthy would be to discover any team that was in on him. He hasn't shown much on the field and is just as much a mess off of it.

All in on RG3 from the stuff I've seen on Twitter.

I agree but Dallas would be wise to get a QB in the draft if they like one of them. This could be it with Romo if his shoulder gives him anymore trouble so they shouldn't put all of their eggs in the RG3 basket. He was so bad he didn't even dress for Washington this season

Sources say the Eagles are gonna cut Murray and he may go back to the Cowboys. I def think the Cows draft a QB in the 1st 3 rounds this year. its a lock. OR...... since Manziel is done in Cleveland.....do you think the Cows take a shot with him? if not the cows who do you guys see giving Manziel a 2nd chance?

Legal experts please...based upon the police report a crime occurred, correct? So, why no charges? If highball did what the ex said then why no charges? If the ex recanted then why no charges against her for filing a false statement?

Many times when police see what is apparently a 'he said, she said' situation, without any other significant laws broken, they'll let it go.

Important exception: if they see physical evidence of abuse (cuts, scratches, bruises etc.), one or maybe both will be arrested.

I suspect the girl friend did not have any signs of abuse.

Just heard a Cleveland reporter on radio - the police believe she was being truthful initially , but they don't have enough to charge him unless she starts talking again or changes her mind about wanting to file a complaint

Pretty bad when an agent thinks you're a terrible person.

Sad

@jasonlacanfora

Burkhardt has been among those trying to help Manziel choose a course of accountability and recovery, which he has resisted to this point

Where is rock bottom for him? When will he finally take someone's counsel? I hope he does now before he winds up in a situation he cannot come back from.

He's just lost his biggest professional advocate. He's about to find himself unemployed. Still under investigation by the police.

I hope one of these things, maybe the cumulative effect of all three, can help him come to his senses soon.

Agreed. The bolded has more to do with life than football......by miles.

He's losing his entire support system and has no stability in his life right now. Rock bottom is probably an OD or gunshot to the head at this point.

He may not have any senses. The kid really could end up dead. I hope his parents/family/friends step up. He needs it to happen.
