The Big Cat Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I am- Cheers- it was obvious which piece belonged to who. Then I'm thoroughly confused with what you thought was "harsh."
billsfan_34 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) Then I'm thoroughly confused with what you thought was "harsh." Obtuse is defined as annoying. There was nothing annoying about my post. Im not going to play the lawyer play on words game. Take care Edited January 11, 2016 by billsfan_34

Take care Ha, okay. That is a definition of obtuse but not the intended one here. Lacking in discernment is what we were going for. As in, you simplified a situation which I believe to be incredibly more nuanced. Edited January 11, 2016 by The Big Cat
26TrapDraw Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) It's as simple as this Honeymoon over in Buffalo for Rex. You were told you have this year to get to the playoffs. He can hire the Pope if he wants as long as we get the results we want. If not the search starts again. Edited January 11, 2016 by BeefCurtns

Everyone on here knows the Big Bad Cat is always right. Its all good you keep on keepin on with your "I am always right no matter what" stance. Meanwhile I will choose to converse with people who respect others opinions and think before they hit "add reply" or "quote". Thats all.

BillsfaninMyrtleBeach Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This was one of the things I dreaded most. Rob Ryan is not a good pick. His track record doesn't look good so why hire him? Nepotism be damned, we are all freakin tired of stupid picks. We want to win football games and this is NOT going to do that. Well we don't have a choice in the pick process so here we go again, have to "wait and see". If he does well with our defence I will eat crow (I highly doubt that will happen) and be the first to say I was wrong, but man I'm getting really sick of getting my hopes up every year just to have stupid stuff like this happen.

Dont get your hopes up then. Thats what I do and it seems to work well for me. Expect to lose and be pleasantly surprised when we win. Dont be sippin that Kool Aid either. I almost bought one of those "one before I die" t shirts but figured; whats the sense? This team continues to make mistake after mistake and the contant is Brandon IMO
Direhard Fan Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 How can the hire be bad? More experience is a good thing. Brother? who cares. He had a good rep until NO fired him mid season. Lots of people get fired who are good. Ever get fired? I'm sure it wasn't your fault. I really think Rex had to much imput into the "D" and maybe this will let him make sure the batteries are charged in the head phones and let some else call the signals. We need those head sets. Who knows. Rob might get dreads by the season opener or get a hair cut. Go Bill's.
12Kachy Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I like this. Hey can't be worse then Thurman this year (Well could be). But at least the Def scheme will stay the same. I still think Rex is a mediocre coach, but so was Billicek with the Browns. So maybe, just maybe the Bills can pull this together. I think they can. For the first time in a long time, Players want to stay or come to Buffalo. Before they had to overpay (M. Williams) to get them here.

Is that why we had to sign Shady to a long-term extension with tons of guaranteed money?
moshermw Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I voted no, yes, no no - bad and unecessary hie - this guy can't coach D as evidenced by NO and Dallas stints yes - my opinion of Ryan has gone from an over-rated coach to not only over-rated but one more concerned with padding his relatives and friends incomes then improving this team yes - I was thinking 7-9 next year but 4-12 is now a distinct possibility I wish there was a hibernation chamber so I could take the next several years off and awake when the new coaching staff and GM (I was a Whaley supporter until he let this happen) are hired in 2018 Voted this way, too but am pretty close to 55/45 on all three in how convinced I am that it was horribly bad till I do some research later. Slight lean to not good.
Webster Guy Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Coaches don't count against the cap. Hire a dozen defensive specialists, they're all free on Pegula's checkbook. Rob Ryan has coached several top 5 defenses in the NFL. (If anyone cares to look into it) While you're at it, look at the Saints personnel and tell me you could stop anyone with that crew.
Bill from NYC Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) i can't pass judgement on any of these things because i don't have a damn clue. and these issues are important enough that i'm left almost entirely un-opininiated about the entire scenario, not knowing some very pertinent info. But these issues are important enough for you to post 10 or so times in this thread alone? Really, I think you have bored us enough. Edited January 11, 2016 by Bill from NYC

Best Player Available Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Hod on! Hold on! Look The thinking here is always to try and improve our product. And of course sell any available inventory. Look at the bigger picture, Both Ryan brothers Doing their clown dances on the sidelines next year. Who wouldn't pay too see that live? We might Even have to jack up season ticket prices 8% next season.I think the demand will be that high. So Bills nation enjoy the rest of the playoffs on the couch along with the folks at OBD,and Bills players. Best Regards, Russ Brandon

We're talking about ME again!! I'll take What we resort to when we're wobbling on shaky premises for $400, Alex.

Dr. Fong Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Had to go no, no, no. I'm ambivalent about the hire. I don't think it will ultimately matter one way or another because I think we are now on a path of deconstructing and rebuilding the defense. It's unfortunate because I was hoping Ryan could come in and win with the team as-is. Seems to me that he no longer believes that if he ever did and we are looking at yet another 3 year process.
