Green Lightning Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Christ, don't like it at all. Then again maybe Rob's the new ST coach. Can't do much worse that we were this season.
JoeF Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This is exactly what I thought when first reading this. Next offseason both will be on a beach with an umbrella drink saying thank you Terry and Kim.....
GG Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) Of course. I assume it's an educated guess. What led you to guess this would be true? Just a hunch that a guy who's had decent success with LBs over last two decades would be an improvement over a guy who was a film coordinator just a few years ago, as long as we're slamming nepotism. 4merper4mer Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 It really isn't a surprise this or stuff like it would happen. Cuz Rex Sux.
Captain_Quint Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This must be our 'big splash', based purely on size this year.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This must be our 'big splash', based purely on size this year. He missed on the triple lindy.

April is no prize either. But Rob Ryan lorded a historically bad defense and was rightly fired. He has no business being here. Given our problems at LB, common sense would tell you that if Rob Ryan had value, he would have been hired by the Bills as soon as he was available. He's been fired as DC 4 times. He's a crappy coach. He would be unemployed off not for the gullibility of the Bills owners.

White Linen Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) I don't mind it. I mean Rex's system has to be taught and if his brother helps do that - I can buy into that. Edited January 11, 2016 by Triple Threat

He's a crappy coach. He would be unemployed off not for the gullibility of the Bills owners. Well he's now been hired by seven different franchises, several of which won multiple Super Bowls. So someone must think he knows something about football. Belichick kept him for 3-4 years. I think he's a buffoon bigger than Rex but he knows something about football. Maybe he's much better as a position coach than DC. There are all kinds of guys like that.
K D Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This is going to be like a 24/7 frat party. I'm scared
NoSaint Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I don't get why adding another coach makes us worse. Because more isn't always better.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 @MikeGarafolo Bills confirm what @alexmarvez repeated earlier: Rob Ryan now a member of their staff. Title: assistant head coach/defense. @BuffaloBillsPR .@buffalobills HC Rex Ryan on naming Rob Ryan the team’s assistant head coach/defense:
Mr. WEO Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Now your take doesn't make sense. The Bills should've hired him two months ago if he was any good? No, if he was worth hiring, they would have then. This is simply Rex telling the Pegulas he wants them to do him a(another) favor.
Coach Tuesday Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 It frees Rex up to focus on other things and possibly details, while Rob helps implement the complex defensive scheme. This is fine folks...
26CornerBlitz Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Ryan hires brother Rob as assistant head coach/defense Rex Ryan announced the addition of his brother Rob Ryan to the Bills coaching staff.
Kelly the Dog Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 No, if he was worth hiring, they would have then. This is simply Rex telling the Pegulas he wants them to do him a(another) favor. You don't think Rex Ryan genuinely believes that his brother knows football and can help the team? Whether it's true or not is not the question.
FireChan Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 You don't think Rex Ryan genuinely believes that his brother knows football and can help the team? Whether it's true or not is not the question. Rex Ryan is a total moron, so it is the question. It frees Rex up to focus on other things and possibly details, while Rob helps implement the complex defensive scheme. This is fine folks... Rob Ryan SUCKS at implementing this scheme.
