“This was less a state of the union than it was a state of denial”

Obama's last State of the Union address in three words: Disjointed, irrelevant and disappointing By Edward Rollins

FTA:

This is a speech that will not be remembered and will historically be irrelevant.

The man who was the most partisan president in recent history, talked about how disappointed he is that the partisan divide has not healed.

The office of the presidency has been diminished under Barack Obama’s two terms. His party has been demolished at the State house level and in the loss of both Houses of Congress. But he still panders on.

This is not an historic presidency and he exemplified his "leading from behind" with a very forgettable farewell State of the Union.

No wonder the country is desperately looking for new leadership.

And 93 million now out of the workforce.

Once you take out full-time students, senior citizens, the disabled, and those who have chosen not to work to take care of their children, a more reasonable estimate of "out of work" Americans is somewhere in the neighborhood of 21 million- of course if you are a disingenuous prick you should continue to use that 93 million number.

I'm not even sure where he got the 14 million from.

January 2008 to December 2015. I checked the BLS numbers.

Cherry-pick different dates, you get different results. Hell, the economy could shed 10m+ jobs this next year (if RBS is right), and Obama's cult would still cherry-pick December 2015 as an end-point and say he created 14 million jobs.

No, but this is a man who was never serious about doing the whole job of President. Wars, budgets, terrorism, a weak economy and having to actually work with people were huge distractions from his fairness and racial equality agenda.

And don't forget about improving his golf game. My God, that was the most important achievement of his regime. This POTUS consistently punched below the belt and below his weight.

Ummmm, hello? The Iraq occupation?

I know everyone wants to forget the Bush years, but that's sort of hard to miss

So basically you will just drag any debate down in to obfuscation rabbit hole

And yet, in relative terms, the last time the number was at 33% was March 1978. Do you know how hard you have to work to make things that much worse?

Now let's break it down. Current unemployment rate is 5%, but African American unemployment rate? Over 8%. Teen unemployment? 23%.

So while I appreciate your attempt to sign your pig up for Glamor shots, it's still, undeniably, a pig.

Lest we forget Bush started Iraq and terrorism. Obama is just trying to fix it.

Or has this excuse finally died?

When somebody runs for President, they have a good idea what they're walking into. If someone doesn't like the cards they'll be holding on day one in office, don't run. Obama came in with an agenda, just not the correct one for the time (or any time).

You know what's a good example of obfuscation? Claiming every single post that disagrees with you is obfuscation.

Why the LA Times Stopped Carrying Cartoonist Diaz. The cartoonist Dixon Diaz can say more in a few little squares than the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Kansas City RED Star can -- combined.
