This still doesn't get them off my **** list for canceling the show in favor of John From Cincinnati. :censored:

That was not HBO's fault. Blame the creator.

"Here's my counter offer to your counter offer: Go F%$# yourself."

Ian McShane owned that show.

I put Sweargin right there with Archie Bunker as the greatest television characters ever.

I am perfectly OK with their faces on the Mt Rushmore of best TV characters ever.

A Mount Rushmore of TV characters is a good idea. I would think you'd have to break them up into different categories though: one for original drama, one for comedy... probably one for Adaptation though I imagine they'd all be Thrones characters.

Off the top of my head here would be mine:

Original Drama Mt. Rushmore

Tony Soprano

Walter White

Al Swearengen

Fox Mulder (yeah, I did that over Omar, Bauer, and Draper)

Comedy Mt. Rushmore

Fraiser Crane

George Castanza

Michael Scott

Tobias Funke (yeah, this one was way harder for me)

It's amazing how many actors from Deadwood ended up on Sons of Anarchy

Charlie Utter was the Sheriff Unser on SoA

Calamity Jane was the MC's lawyer

Trixie was on SoA during their Irish vacation

Joni Stubbs was another whore/madam on SoA

Silas was an IRA villain

And of course Mr Wu who played...a Chinese boss

Draper over White and Mulder

Al Bundy had a long long run fwiw.

George and Tobias over Jerry ? Whoa

Jerry is great, but he never anything but himself. As a standup, he'd make the list absolutely. As a character on the sitcom? Not so much. I think that has to go to George, Kramer and Elaine before Jerry.

I was never a huge Mad Men fan so that's why I didn't include Draper. Mulder -- though X-Files is dated -- had a bigger cultural impact than Draper had. I'd argue White was a more fleshed out character than DD but again, I am a bigger fan of Breaking Bad than I was of Mad Men so I'm biased.

And Tobias might be one of the most underrated comedic characters in TV history. But that's me ;)

Lucy Ricardo.

I mean, Desi and Lucy only invented modern TV with I Love Lucy. I don't know how you leave her off.
