LeGOATski Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Who is the OC? Dirk Koetter. Jags, Falcons, and then Bucs. He's done good things with talented players. Seems like it's his time.
DanInUticaTampa Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Who is the OC? Koetter? Don't know much about him, but bucs fans think he is important to Winstons development. Fans would be more upset to see him go than lovie
Buffalo Barbarian Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 3m3 minutes ago The #Bucs have fired Lovie Smith. Josina Anderson @JosinaAnderson 3m3 minutes ago The #Bucs have fired Lovie Smith, per the team. Whaaaat?!
8-8 Forever? Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 @PP_Rich_Hill Here's some more Buccaneers player reactions. Not pretty. @JohnKryk 4 of 6 fired #NFL HCs (Lovie, Pettine, Whiz, Tomsula) lasted 2yrs or less. In order: 32, 32, 23, 16 games. Who says owners are impatient? can you imagine if Pegs blows it all up again next year here? I will be done forever.
Prickly Pete Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 can you imagine if Pegs blows it all up again next year here? I will be done forever. Can you imagine sitting through the Wrex Clown Show for 3-4 more seasons, and then starting all over again?
MyHorseAteTheKid Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 . Out of the Frying Pan and into the Fire!!!
GunnerBill Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I am surprised. Where did the Buccs expect to be his year? The rookie QB has played pretty well the team had a good run mid-season and he seemed to have things generally pointed in the right direction. Add to that he has a track record as a Head Coach and I find this very odd. The fact that it has happened later in the week makes me think that Leslie Frazier's status as DC might have provoked the change. Was Lovie asked to change DC and refused?
eball Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Lovie Smith is not a good coach. They shouldn't have hired him in the first place. Whoooo-wee...you should have been around here a few years ago. You'd have thought the Bills missed the Second Coming by not signing Lovie to be our HC.
GunnerBill Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Whoooo-wee...you should have been around here a few years ago. You'd have thought the Bills missed the Second Coming by not signing Lovie to be our HC. Whilst I didn't have him as the second coming, by any means, he was my preferred candidate to replace Chan.... I was attracted by his track record with defense and believed we had talent on that side of the ball that was being misused. A bit like Rex has here so far though.... he has failed to live up to his reputation as a defensive coach in Tampa.... however I still think his firing is very harsh.
GunnerBill Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Lovie is a terrible, awful coach. He had a very good record in Chicago.
Nick the Greek Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I remember I wanted Lovie after Chan was let go.. Now we got Rex.
YoloinOhio Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 They want to promote Dirk Koetter because they are afraid he's going to get HC offers elsewhere and don't want to lose him.
Wayne Cubed Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Apparently the Bucs were scared of losing Dirk Koetter: Rick Stroud @NFLSTROUD #Bucs will go through the "process," of searching for a HC. But this sounds like a coronation for OC Dirk Koetter to become HC
vincec Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Doug Marrone, according to Adam Schefter and Jimmy Sexton. Lol
Billsmovinup Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I could see them going after Jimbo Fisher from Florida State. He runs a pro style offense that Winston ran in College and they are gonna do everything in their power to make Winston as successful as possible. All they gotta do is look at the smooth transitions Chip Kelly, Nick Saban, and Steve Spurrier made to know a college coach is the way to go.
PlayoffsPlease Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 and what the bills used to do regularly....might do again....like the crappy teams, bucs, browns, radiers I think you have cause and effect backwards. Teams change coaches because of crappy results. It is impossible to prove they have crappy results because they change coaches.

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Epstein's mom is not impressed. I was like 2 seconds too late from posting the first "welcome back, mr. Koetter" reference! Well done, sir. But I still say to you: up your nose with a rubber hose.
