ganesh Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Shady, Tyrod and Sammy….poised to have a monster 2016 together. A RT here and a WR2 there and we are talking top 5 offense. Why break it up? Don't forget to add Clay to that Trio
KD in CA Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 God no. Shady is much better than Murray. Let's not get too excited about our crowded backfield yet; McCoy is still the man. Karlos has yet to show he can stay on the field for any length of time. His injuries, especially the concussion, should be a concern. And while I hope Gillislee is still in the picture next season, I'm not ready to promote him beyond #3 yet.
Canadian Bills Fan Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 After seeing Shady play this year I wouldnt trade him for anything (well at least what teams would probably offer for him) No way the team who finishes the year with the #1 run game should trade their RB CBF
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 So, Shady grew up in PA and before Chip Kelly and this season was playing for the team he loves. Passionate guy despite being a bit of a jackass. Chip is gone. What if Shady approached Whaley about getting traded back to Philly? Would you trade him straight up for DiMarco Murray? Shady + late rounder for DiMarco? Yes to either one for me. Thoughts and opinions? Meh - I'm not even sure I trade Karlos for Murray, who has a very similar running style btw. McCoy creates something from nothing regularly which is an asset. If I had the Cowboys line id rather Murray. Not in b-Lo though God no. Shady is much better than Murray. Gillisee is a perfect fit, back up to McCoy and can fill in on play calls designed for McCoy. Karlos is the change of pace agile bulldozer.. Get another battering ram in the mix not named boobie and It's a nice group.
Kirby Jackson Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 If the OP didn't have 800+ posts I would be sure that we were being trolled. In fact, I almost hope that we are being trolled. The general premises is to trade a Pro Bowl RB on the #1 rushing team in the NFL for a guy that was, at times, 4th on his depth. On top of that they have virtually the same contract (guarantees are a little different). This actually ranks with the worst ideas ever suggested.

papazoid Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 hell no shady is far superior to murray....not even close.

McCoy has done it every year.
GaryPinC Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 DeMarco is 5 months older than LeSean. He has been running for two less seasons but is a two time pro bowler compared to McCoy's three. They both signed 5 year $40 mil deals in 2015 but the breakdowns and guaranteed $ are different. They both have identical career rushing avg ypc at 4.6. Before Murray came to Philly for a relatively poor 2015 season he had two very strong seasons in Dallas where his avg. ypc were 5.1 and 4.7 respectively. He is not as productive a receiver as McCoy but otherwise statistically they seem fairly close in rushing ability. I don't follow Murray much so can't say if this is true in talent. career stats: Murray: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MurrDe00.htm McCoy: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/McCoLe01.htm Contract #s: http://overthecap.com/player/lesean-mccoy/761 http://overthecap.com/player/demarco-murray/621 Wouldn't seem to be that impossible a deal so I was wondering why DeMarco is considered an average back as opposed to having a bad season at the hands of Chip? Before 2015 his career avg ypc was 4.8.
boyst Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 No one is taking McCoys ridiculous contract. His money is ridiculous. I hope we can restructure it soon. We paid way too much. I'm still in the tiny camp!saying we would have been better keeping the Alonso. Sure, he didn't play much or al that well, but his $ and possibility contributing to the team at all make it better than a banged up, declining McXcoy and large $. Like it or not, McCoys best years are behind him. He will still get a lot of yards but RB's are a dime a dozen. Gilliselee, Karlos have shown young backs can be just as impactful; Dixon as a 3rd back this year and Herein wasn't too bad, either. Plus, Thigpen can run. Even if Alonso played 50% of the games at 70% his former self he, in my opinion would have been the better choice over an overpaid McCoy.

Murray benefited from having huge holes to run through in Dallas . Those didnt exist in Philly. Shady can be productive even behind subpar lines. This is why most consider Murray to be average and Shady elite.
Luxy312 Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Absolutely asinine idea. Let's get real here. First and foremost, if the Bills traded McCoy to anyone, they would immediately eat a $10.5 million cap penalty in 2016. His cap number to remain with the Bills is merely $7.675 million for 2016. That all by itself makes the idea beyond idiotic. Now let's look at Murray. He is guaranteed $7.0 million in salary in 2016. Why on earth would the Bills trade a $7.675 million cap hit in 2016 for a $10.50 million accelerated cap penalty AND then also pay Murray another $7.0 million? They wouldn't because it's a stupid idea. Murray is also a complaining cry baby that bitches about his number of carries. Exactly what we don't need in WNY.
