26CornerBlitz Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 @SalSports Bills finish tops in rushing, near bottom in sacks. Here are their complete Off, Def, & Special Teams NFL rankings: http://www.wgr550.com/Bills-finish-tops-in-rushing-near-bottom-in-sacks-/22338588
Buftex Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 As much as the Bills offense improved (with more room for improvement), the defense fell off almost as dramatically. Still though, 15th in avg. points allowed by defense is not awful...the most important stat.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Wait, with TT at QB how did we end up 28th in passing yards?
bobobonators Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 At the end of the day losing TT for the Jags game was killer; and not being able to win one vs either the Skins, Eagles, or Giants. Unacceptable.
MarkyMannn Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Ironically looking quickly at those stat's it appears the Offense was the strength of the team. Exactly opposite what 2015 was to be Wait, with TT at QB how did we end up 28th in passing yards? The coaches kept the reins tight on him early to mid of the season. Focused on the run more
bobobonators Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Wait, with TT at QB how did we end up 28th in passing yards? With the Seahawks being 27th in passing last year how did they make it to the SB? They should get another QB
eball Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Two words: Jordan Gay You can't argue with #1 in average kickoff return yards against. This was the only area of ST in which the Bills didn't fail miserably.
The Big Cat Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 As much as the Bills offense improved (with more room for improvement), the defense fell off almost as dramatically. Still though, 15th in avg. points allowed by defense is not awful...the most important stat. I would actually like to see that number adjusted for defensive scores, special teams scores, and scores following a three and out--meaning FG's (or even TD's) set up by good field position following either a turnover or a big ST return.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 You can't argue with #1 in average kickoff return yards against. This was the only area of ST in which the Bills didn't fail miserably. Gay really justified his spot on the roster with this. We are the only team in the NFL with a KO specialist, and he made sure we led the league in this.
Tu-Toned Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Seems simple, improve the D, even marginally and wal la we make the playoffs next year.
Big C Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Wait, with TT at QB how did we end up 28th in passing yards? 9th in pass yards/play
YoloinOhio Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 @evansilva 2015 QB Rush Yds: Cam Newton 636 Tyrod Tayor 568 Russ Wilson 553 Alex Smith 498 Aaron Rodgers 344 Blake Bortles 310 Ryan Fitzpatrick 270
bobobonators Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 9th in pass yards/play Also, Bills offense #1 in NFL in passing plays of 25yds or more.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 9th in pass yards/play This is a great stat too. Remember when Trent Edwards was setting NFL records for lowest YPA in history?!
The Big Cat Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 This is a great stat too. Remember when Trent Edwards was setting NFL records for lowest YPA in history?! Also, Bills offense #1 in NFL in passing plays of 25yds or more. And they finished with 15 (15!!!) TD's of 30+ yards.
bobobonators Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 This is a great stat too. Remember when Trent Edwards was setting NFL records for lowest YPA in history?! Yup. And people complaining how Fitz couldnt throw the ball more than 10 yds...
