seadog Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 After i heard of the release i was upset, but it seems they made the correct choice. Carlos has had a nice season despite injury. Maybe they could have kept Fred as #3, but he wouldnt go for it. We could have used him no doubt, but i like the youth and Gillesea looks like a keeper.

Karlos on the other hand was a great pickup...

BustaTimes Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I'm not sad to see my ex girlfriend go, look at my beautiful new girlfriend! ......OH GOD I MISS MY OLD GIRLFRIEND!
aristocrat Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 no freddy is in the playoffs and that makes me happy
jr1 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I like Gilislee a ton. I was pissed about Fred but we're deeper than ever

Maybe they could have kept Fred as #3, but he wouldnt go for it. We could have used him no doubt, but i like the youth and Gillesea looks like a keeper. Karlos and even Gillislee are irrelevant in the discussion.......the team carries 4 RB's and the Bills kept Bryce Brown and the nearly worthless Boobie D in favor of Fred. The season was lost when the Bills had 6 of their first 8 games at home or a neutral site........and only came out of it 4-4. They missed Jackson early with all the *unavailability* of McCoy and Karlos.........and the lockerroom missed his leadership all season. dave mcbride had a good thread about the Fred decision recently......nobody in their right mind expected Fred to be a big yardage rusher......he's a complementary player at this point but he was a valued player in Seattle this year....playing a lot more than most people here think........and the Bills missed him in short yardage and on third downs where McCoy and Karlos are both very weak performers.
DallasBillsFan1 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Loved Fred, but I have no issue wit him being cut. It was time.

Although I'm glad he is in the playoffs and didn't go through the bumbling bills season.
Rob's House Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 It was a stupid move. Glad Fred gets to go to the playoffs, but I have yet to hear a coherent argument explaining why he wasn't worth a roster spot.
26CornerBlitz Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Loved Fred, but I have no issue wit him being cut. It was time. I agree. Good to see him get a taste of the playoffs.
sullim4 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 It left a leadership gap on the team that hasn't been filled since. I'd rather have a third down back that's a leader as opposed to a kickoff specialist...
RealityCheck Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I was a huge FJ fan, but everybody's days are numbered, and Karlos is just better right now. I'm not really the sentimental type anyways.

spillerhighlife Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 I think Karlos is great and he will continue to be a good ying to mccoys yang. However, I would have liked to have fred in the backfield for his leadership and his potential to mentor younger players.
What a Tuel Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 That leadership sure did take the Bills far in all of his years in Buffalo. You may joke, but I would dread to see the 2014 offense without Fred.
boyst Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 It was a stupid move. Glad Fred gets to go to the playoffs, but I have yet to hear a coherent argument explaining why he wasn't worth a roster spot. nailed it.
sullim4 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 That leadership sure did take the Bills far in all of his years in Buffalo. There were several issues this season (penalties, lack of mental concentration, etc) that didn't crop up last year. With this year's talent, I have to think that a veteran leader would have been worth 1-2 additional wins.
