Media, and some fans here are wrong!!

Sorry, has to be said.

The media always goes ultra-conservative. They are slow to see guys who are becoming good and slow to grow sour on guys who are on their way down. They loved Kurt Warner and yet he lost his starting job for good reason and went elsewhere and didnt play like the all-star that they labeled him as. The media is about the last people to learn about how a player is doing.

Its completely expected that they would be backing Drew, many of them are athletes just like Drew who have an overbloated opinion of their talent and tend to favor vets over young guys. The league tends to be what have you dont for me lately and the media is all about what you did in the past.

as far as fans here go, too many were willing to simply try to limp into the playoffs and try to win every playoff game on the road. Good freekin lcuk. Too many simply said "forget it" when trying to find a way to beat NE and win the division. Thank god that TD and Co. saw past that and realized that we must build a team that can beat NE and if we dont our chances to go to the SB are pretty damn slim.

So, TD and MM have the joib of evaltuating where we are today as far as talent and where we need to be. The media and fans dont have to do that. TD and Co. went to the tapes and made the right call, we ARE NOT good enough on O and we cant beat NE or do well in the playoffs if we dont get better. That meant changes. One guy who seems to most often have trouble with NE was Drew.

Our road through NE did not include Drew (he had already proved that he couldnt get it done against them). The media and fans here dont grasp this and wont until we get over the hump and start having at least a 50/50 chance against them.

Anyways, TD and Co did the right thing, they are lloking forward, being honest about their limitations and trying to improve. The media and some Drew supporters wanted status quo and that would NEVER get us to the promise land.
