Wow, just tuned in and saw the last hour of an old college football classic on ESPN classic, 1992 USC vs Notre Dame. The USC QB was freshmen Rob Johnson. If this were still 1992, I would urge the Bills to keep an eye on this kid! Even though USC lost the game (RJ took a sack, and then threw a pick in the endzone on 4th down, a forshadowing of things to come?), RJ was named player of the game. The announcers (Griese and Jackson I think) gush about Johnson throughout. Hard to believe this kid with the million dollar arm would be done in by a ten cent head! Speaking of which, Notre Dame was QB'd by Rick Mirer, but really won on the legs of Jerome Bettis. Fun game to watch, lots of future NFL'ers in action. Johnnie Morton makes a stellar 35 yard catch of a Johnson pass, around the 6 yard line, with about 19 seconds. Fun game...just a reminder of how unprecise a science college scouting is...
