papazoid Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 complete waste of time dude can't stay on the field (yr/games played) 2015 - 5 2014 - 13 2013 - 1 2012 - 9
John from Riverside Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 complete waste of time dude can't stay on the field (yr/games played) 2015 - 5 2014 - 13 2013 - 1 2012 - 9 So just the year before last he played 13 games? I would take that~!
GunnerBill Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 So just the year before last he played 13 games? I would take that~! Yea... for two different teams... because the team where he started ditched him after 5 games.
John from Riverside Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Yea... for two different teams... because the team where he started ditched him after 5 games. Doesnt matter.....what is being discussed here is player availability due to injury
Kemp Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 He's actually the exact opposite of that. It's another reason to consider him. We have 2 possession guys in Woods and Hogan but no other playmakers besides Sammy (Clay too but he's not a WR). Harvin brings something different. Woods has a higher career yards per catch than Harvin.
John from Riverside Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Woods has a higher career yards per catch than Harvin. I think Woods gets a pretty bad rap. The thing is...Harvin fits a nitch...he is that freaking quick guy who can take the top off the defense. Watkins does this....Woods does not.....Cavil will not......Dez Lewis will not.....Goodwin can but is made of glass
Sandy McFiddish Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Offer him 1mil with an incentive laden contract. Cannot afford to pay guys $6mil to barely play. I would much rather see us go after James Jones if he is affordable, at least if the rumorr about Green Bay not wanting to resign him is true
FireChan Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Isn't that what we did in '15? How did that work?
BuffaloFan68 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I'd be willing to give him a $900k contract with incentives not to exceed $1.8 million.
Kemp Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I think Woods gets a pretty bad rap. The thing is...Harvin fits a nitch...he is that freaking quick guy who can take the top off the defense. Watkins does this....Woods does not.....Cavil will not......Dez Lewis will not.....Goodwin can but is made of glass Harvin has had two worthwhile seasons in his career and that ended 5 seasons ago. He also is made of glass. He has one of the worst attitudes in the league. Just what the team needs.
jumbalaya Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 When Harvin played, Harvin got all the looks and Sammy was a decoy. Harvin went out, Sammy emerged, and Wood became a blocker because Tyrod could not get the ball to his 2nd option. If, and it is a big if, Tyrod develops, the O line stabilizes, and he can get the ball to his second and/or third receiver, Sammy, Percy and Wood could all excel. Harvin could easily take DB pressure off of Sammy and the big play would be there for either. Wood may even get more than 2 TDs this year. A rookie #2 or Goodwin and Wood and will not take any pressure off Sammy. Get Harvin, always get playmakers. I think Woods gets a pretty bad rap. The thing is...Harvin fits a nitch...he is that freaking quick guy who can take the top off the defense. Watkins does this....Woods does not.....Cavil will not......Dez Lewis will not.....Goodwin can but is made of glass Woods had 2 TDs all year and quite a few drops. He earned his rap.
Kemp Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Get Harvin, always get playmakers. Woods had 2 TDs all year and quite a few drops. He earned his rap. Harvin has 2 TDs in his last 3 seasons.
reddogblitz Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Harvin has 2 TDs in his last 3 seasons. Does that count the 1 in the Super Bowl?
KD in CA Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 So just the year before last he played 13 games? I would take that~! Yeah, but the 4 year average is 7. I wouldn't bet on anything higher than that.
4merper4mer Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Yeah, but the 4 year average is 7. I wouldn't bet on anything higher than that. But Rex called him tough in a presser yesterday. Maybe we're all missing something. Rex also said the D line played well last year and we all missed that.
GunnerBill Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Doesnt matter.....what is being discussed here is player availability due to injury What is being discussed is whether he is worth signing. If the only time he has played over half a season in the last few years the team for whom he was playing for the first 5 or 6 games basically decided he wasn't worth sticking around (and this a team in "win now" mode) then surely that is relevant?
Freddie's Dead Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 NFW. If he'll play for the vet minimum, AND if we can squeeze him in under the cap, he gets a 1-yr deal. If he stays healthy and performs, we can talk about giving him some do re mi next year when we have some cap room.
