ChevyVanMiller Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) To me, he and Curly Neal, were the Globetrotters. R.I.P. Edited December 28, 2015 by ChevyVanMiller
Nanker Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 One of the very, very best showmen in all of sport. RIP Meadowlark. I was privileged to see you play a few times.
Wacka Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Saw him and Curly Neal back in the 60s at the Aud, before they raised the roof.
26CornerBlitz Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 A great Globetrotter and Bucketeer. R.I.P. Meadowlark. @Sportsnet Meadowlark Lemon, the 'clown prince' of the Harlem Globetrotters, dies at 83 http://ow.ly/WnGPp
Marv's Neighbor Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 What a great person! RIP Meadowlark.
Gugny Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 RIP. And I agree ... he and Curly have always been the two I've considered to be "the Globetrotters."
Cugalabanza Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 He was awesome! Rest in peace. I'm glad I got to see him live when I was a little kid.
Saxum Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 My father took me to a game with him in it once which was delightful and even more surprising when I discovered how prejudiced he was in later life.
stevewin Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I remember watching the Globetrotters as a kid at the Aud - did they do double headers with the Braves? Took my kids about 10 years ago when they rolled through town - needless to say it was not the same (esp after the hype I had given it from my childhood memories). Meadowlark and Curly were the 'trotters for me
26CornerBlitz Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 @WFAN660 Meadowlark Lemon was a part of the CBS family. An interesting piece from James H. Burns. http://cbsloc.al/1QVJihL
