The players often have incentives in their contract for playing time or statistics so if they are healthy they aren't going to want to be scratched. Someone suggested that McCoy has an incentive in the six figures for reaching 1,000 yards rushing. Don't know if true but I can't see why else he would play with an unstable ligament in his knee.
