If the Bills were somehow able to sign both where would they play on a Dline that with Marcel, Kyle, and Hughes?

Wilkerson is going to get 100mil and or franchised so he isn't coming to Buffalo

Hughes doesn't play the line. Kyle would have to be a cap casualty

Kyle and Mario will be gone. Unloading those two contracts will free up cap space and Wilkerson is a Rex Ryan guy. Hughes will play OLB. The hard part will be getting Ngata to come to B-lo. Pick up a strong 3/4 captain MLB to run Rex's D. Here it is on paper. I am still not sure Rex will be successful but if he gets this personnel grouping and fails he is done coaching.

Marcel ---- Ngata ---- Wilkerson

Hughes --- Bradham --- ????? --- Brown

A. Williams Graham

Gilmore Darby

BTW I hate this and would prefer the Bills keep their current personnel, fire Rex and bring in Schwartz as Head Coach

Schwartz got fired twice in the past 5 years because he's an amazing coach then. And he has some super secret formula of defensive scheme that Rex and Thurman just can't grasp, so he's the only guy that can coach it.

Scwartz did an excellent job FOR US as a coordinator... Based solely on that, he should STILL be here... That fat, loudmouth, 4-12, media-whore HC we got was hardly worth parting ways with the quintessential "bird in hand".... And please don't even get me started on Greg "the rotten egg" Roman... What a mistake hiring that guy was. -NO BETTER THAN HACKETT!

Pretty please Terry?

it would be so cool.

I do expect them to make some moves on the line and LBs. so FA might have Bills fairly busy.

They need a 350lb anchor at NT and some stud ILB along with an improved safety. I could see scenarios where they attemp to move on from all but Hughes and Lawson, if they are all in on Wrecks.

MD aint going nowhere

I'd rather sign Derek Wolfe & Terrance Knighton for less then half the price. Use the rest of the money on Olineman like Keleci Osemele And Kelvin Beachum

dude killed us.

i am on board

Wilkerson is going to get a Dareus contract

No doubt in my mind

absolutely.

pipe dream for Bills fans seeking something that cannot be

I hate Kyle as a 5 or 4i; doesn't have the length to play the position the way Rex likes IMO.

Kyle could play nose in certain situations, but for me he'll always be a guy that belongs playing 3-tech

I think he could handle the role well in a 4i, though not quite as well in a 5.

And while he doesn't have ideal length, I think his push makes up for that to a degree.

I certainly agree that he's at his best in a 3, however.

That's good news for Bills. Jets won't be able to keep both Wilkerson & Harrison. So they will lose one, and likely Harrison is Buffalo bound.

That's more likely than Wilkerson IMO

Though Harrison will probably want Dan Williams money--$7M+ per

Free agents aside, I have to wonder how the defense with the current personnel would be, if we haad Wade Phillips instead of Buddy's son

Yeah, I'm not holding out hope on Wilkerson. If Harrison is too expensive, DeVito could be a cheaper option and may want to be reunited with Rex.

I'll be watching Barnes closely these two weeks too.

Sure...I don't mean to say that Kyle would be some kind of liability in any system.

I simply hate to see guys--particularly pro bowlers--used in a capacity that isn't ideal for their skill set.

That's one thing that you've got to credit Belichick with: he always uses his players in the ideal role for their skills. You'll never see Chandler Jones playing run-stopping DE or Julian Edelman as a primary boundary WR

Roman is better than Hackett. He just is.

Wade runs a 3-4, correct?

Wade runs a 3-4, correct?

He's run both over the years and adjusts well to utilize personnel and disrupt the opposing offense

Posted

When has Wade ever run a 4-3?

He actually has used 4-3 packages quite a bit. Of course, he's most famous for his 3-4 packages in Denver and Buffalo. The biggest time that sticks out to me was in the late 90's when the Bills lost Speilman and Covington in the same week, moved to a primarily 4-3 defense and beat Miami 9-6
