Polian knows what he is talking about

"Fix the offensive line, which he calls “aging and unathletic.” Add a receiver to complement Sammy Watkins. Get a true backup to quarterback Tyrod Taylor and draft a QB of the future."

absolutely agree 100%

Isn't that what 90% of this board already thought needed to happen?

Apart from the 'aging and unathletic' part, yes. Most on here think that it needed to happen. And it was painful for me to read, but I also agree that the Bills need to officially turn the page on EJ.

Strange though that Polian said precious little regarding the D, save for its' incredible complexity.

In general, I am not sure how I feel about him as a consultant. I think the Bills need someone who can look beyond the current power structure and make true, unbiased, football-based player decisions. I hesitate thinking that BP is that person because he couldn't leverage a player of Peyton Manning's caliber into more than one Superbowl.

What the consultant first needs to tell Terry and Kim is to stop the meddling between the HC and GM. That their hierarchy is flawed (promotes dissent and backstabbing) and that it has poisoned two regimes in a row. The GM needs full autonomy in the football operations and that means having the head coach answering to the GM. Your job as owners and president is to gauge the organization ONLY through the GM.

hilarious - I thought the same thing. Not exactly a news flash.

I mean, I haven't changed my signature in a while. It consists of 2 OL, a complimentary WR, and a S. I think Terry should pay me to consult him :flirt:

Why is backup QB so important and constantly mentioned? There are many more important things to be concerned about.

You gonna recommend a WR who'll say nice things to everyone?

No one will pay you for that. :)

pretty much......someone needs to tell Whaley

why? He said the same thing about the QBs last week. He's been all over trying to upgrade the OL. He brought in Harvin as a #2 (who played really well initially) to replace woods. It isn't like he doesn't know these things. I actually laughed out loud (the literal LOL) when I read Polian's genius plan.

Yes, we'll need someone nice who knows their role once Sammy lets his leadership take over and starts to call people out when they aren't trying

You know, it's funny. The FO rarely does what "90%" of the board wants to do, for better or more often worse.

because if TT gets injured the season is OVER !!

that can't be said about any other player or position.

Levy often gets quoted for 'if you listen to the fans....' but if you look at this board, the majority opinion has far too often proven to be more right than the FO.

ironically, the main reason Bill and his son were jettisoned from Indy was because they failed to fulfill that statement he made about having a true backup.

They didn't "tank." They didn't have a team that could succeed without manning. Polian didn't care whether they got luck or not. He didn't want to cut manning. And he was back and forth on even taking luck.

It's also the reason they were positioned to get Luck though. That Polian's a genius!
