thebandit27 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) wheres the rabbit punch to the back of Beckham's head that preceded that? Yet again Norman initiates the dangerous illegal hit and no flag from official Go ahead and bury your head in the sand if you must. Even a casual observer of Beckham wouldn't be surprised by this display, as it happens every single time a team chooses to play him physical. He did the same thing against Buffalo, punching both Nigel Bradham and Duke Williams after the play, and wasn't even fined. The difference is that this display came against an undefeated team, so now everyone takes note. He's an immature, selfish brat that got manhandled by a physical corner and didn't know how to respond. What a classless bunch of thugs. Rivera should be ashamed.... Panthers used bat to taunt Odell Beckham before game The Panthers brought a baseball bat onto the field during pregame warmups and taunted the Giants receiver with it, ESPNs Adam Schefter reported. In the video above posted by the Giants, you can see a Panthers player in street clothes pointing a bat at the Giants as they ran onto the field. According to NFL.com, Carolina practice squad player Marcus Ball brought it onto the field and gave it to star cornerback Josh Norman who was swinging it. FOXs Jay Glazer posted video on Instagram of Norman holding the bat. http://nypost.com/2015/12/21/panthers-taunted-odell-beckham-with-bat-before-game/ Yeah, because they haven't been carrying that bat around all season long: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/12/21/panthers-baseball-bat-is-a-red-herring-in-beckham-case/ Go ahead, make up another excuse for your boy. Prickly Pete Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I'd love to see what would happen if Watkins was targeted as much as Beckham...Beckham gets nearly 11 targets a game, and Sammy only a little under 7. So Beckham is being thrown the ball an average of 64 more times during the season if you extrapolate a full 16 game schedule. Watkins is doing more per target than Beckham. Watkins averages over 11 yards per target while Beckham is barely over 9 yards per target. Beckham has over double the targets than Sammy does this year(151 to 75) but not double the yards...If Watkins had that many targets, he would have almost 1700 yards and 18 TDs... Its also an apples to oranges comparison as Beckham has played with a much better caliber of QB the last 2 years than Watkins has. How could you say Watkins wouldn't have put up the same or better numbers than Beckham has if he was being force fed the ball from a good veteran QB? Extrapolating statistics is silliness. I like Sammy, but clearly they gave up too much to get him. He isn't a "once in a generation" type guy. I think Beckham is better.
papazoid Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Suspended 1 game! appeal and reduction to a $ fine coming.....
thebandit27 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 appeal and reduction to a $ fine coming..... I don't think so...Aqib Talib got 1 game for poking someone in the eye earlier this year; Beckham isn't getting off the hook for this garbage.

He isn't a "once in a generation" type guy. I think Beckham is better. If he was a once in a generation type guy, he would have gone higher (like #1) and it would have taken multiple 1's to get him. He isn't, and they didn't give up that.
thebug Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 That is bordering on a criminal assault. Should be done for the year. I guess we will find out if the NFL is serious about the concussion issues.

thebandit27 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 i hope your right The NFL is in image-protection mode, and that Concussion film isn't helping Beckham's case. He made a very, very dangerous play, and it was one of many personal foul penalties he took that game. He may appeal, and he may get a 1 week stay of execution, but suspended he will be.

The NFL doesn’t have final say on matters of discipline for on-field behavior, with either Derrick Brooks or James Thrash, jointly hired and paid by the NFL and the NFL Players Association, handling the appeal of any fines or suspensions. Sometimes, the league is willing to roll the dice on a suspension and accept the risk of losing on appeal. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/12/21/suspension-possibility-looms-for-odell-beckham/ Edited December 21, 2015 by papazoid
truth on hold Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Then Norman should get the same for the rabbit punch to the back of the head (and more) throughout the game and warm ups. 26CornerBlitz Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 NFL can justify suspending Odell Beckham Jr. after late hit The MMQB staff writer Robert Klemko looks at Odell Beckham Jr. 's late hit on Josh Norman and discusses whether both players could be suspended by the NFL @NFLonFOX Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended 1 game. Will appeal.

So now a rabbit punch = diving at a guy's head with the crown of your helmet? I'm convinced that you have no idea what you're talking about.

So dangerous theyre illegal in boxing...so if its so dangerous even a sport like boxing wont allow it, how the can the NFL look the other way? Both the officials on the field and review committee?
thebandit27 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 So dangerous theyre illegal in boxing...so if its so dangerous even a sport like boxing wont allow it, how the can the NFL look the other way? Both the officials on the field and review committee? They are illegal in boxing because YOU DON'T WEAR A HELMET IN BOXING. Diving at a guy's head with the crown of your helmet can break a neck or cause a concussion, and you're over there crying about a guy catching a rabbit punch in the back of a helmet with a bare fist. Look, both guys traded some chippiness, but there's absolutely no debate as to which guy took it to the extreme and attempted to injure his opponent. The fact that you blatantly refuse to see that is appalling and ridiculous. OK 2 game for Odouche and 1 for Norman. Guys don't get suspended for punches; they get fined (unless you're Beckham, and then you don't get fined for punching both Nigel Bradham and Duke Williams simply because they made tough football plays against you).
thebug Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Can't wait for other teams to use his temper against him every week. I would send a guy at him every play to get him off of his game. He had almost almost as many penalty yards as receiving yards and almost as many fights as catches.
truth on hold Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Punch to the back head can snap a guys head forward and cause a concussion, helmet or not. Or worse a severe neck injury. That goon showed up with a baseball bat before the game, waived it at Beckham, body slammed him in the first series, punched him in the back of the head....that's very much grounds for suspension.

There's no possible way that you believe this baseball bat wagging-the-dog crap that the Giants are throwing at the wall. I posted the article that talked about how Carolina has been carrying that bat around all year. If punches to the head are grounds for a suspension, than your boy should've been on the shelf for week 5 after punching Duke Williams in the face after Duke blocked him into the dirt, because--once again--poor little OBJ can't beat a physical corner like Darby or Gilmore, and needs to take his immature temper out on somebody. http://www.scout.com/nfl/bills/story/1595828-watch-did-beckham-jr-get-away-with-a-punch I mean, Beckham nearly decapitated Duke...he should be charged with attempted murder (because, you know, those punches to helmets are so deadly) Beckham did the same thing.....but he was the only player who launched at another player's head. Forget it...if you know JTSP, he has an insatiable need to defend OBJ for anything. He will not acknowledge the facts of the situation on any level that paint Beckham in a negative light.
