It’s kind of an odd thing to commission a statue in our day and going forward except for athletes and Trump on Mt Rushmore

 

and enough with the athletes statues....

I'm rethinking this. Maybe 89 is on to something. But why go half way? We need to rename the city of Washington, hell - the name of the state too. Tear down the W. Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial too. We must plow under all the Southern cities old town areas because they were around in the dark era. Let's not forget the southern plantations. Those "museums" must be burned to the ground and salt sowed into their earth. Let's force people with southern accents to take diction lessons so they sound more like us enlightened northerners. Let's keep going with this ***** until we finally get to the real core of the matter... REPARATIONS!

The blacks shouldn't be reminded of their time in bondage by being forced to hear people speak with a southern accent, or be within 1,000 miles of any city or plantation that any slave was near.

 

We know what's best for them, and we will take care of them - so long as they keep their mouths shut and don't get all uppity/turn into Uncle Toms.

West Virginia Governor Fires 34 Prison Guard Trainees Who Gave Nazi Salute As 'Sign of Respect' to Instructor

(CHARLESTON, W. Va.) — West Virginia’s governor has fired 34 correction officer trainees who were photographed giving a Nazi salute, and he fired their instructor. He also says four instructors are being suspended without pay.

Republican Gov. Jim Justice announced his decision Monday after receiving a report from state investigators that the trainees regularly gave the Nazi salute “as a sign of respect” for their instructor in the weeks prior to the release of the photo. Its release earlier this month triggered widespread outrage.

“As I said from the beginning, I condemn the photo … in the strongest possible terms,” Justice said in a statement Monday. “I also said that this act needed to result in real consequences – terminations and dismissals. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated on my watch in any agency of state government.”

A three-page executive summary was released Monday detailing the state’s inquiry into the controversial image.

Virginia Governor Northam versus Robert E. Lee

Virginia Democrat Governor Ralph Northam is pushing a bill in the Virginia Legislature to replace Robert E. Lee’s statue in the U.S. Capitol.

 

Each state has two statues in the National Statuary Hall Collection. Virginia’s two statues are of George Washington and Robert E. Lee.

 

 

In December, Two Virginia U.S. House Representatives, Jennifer Wexton and Donald McEachin, added momentum to replacing Lee’s statue in the Statuary Hall:

 

“As Virginians we have a responsibility not only to learn from but also confront our history. As part of this responsibility, we must strive for more complete telling of history by raising up the voices, stories, and memories of minorities and people of color.”
