IDBillzFan Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Its funny, but The Donald might just be more electable than Cruz. The poor GOP establishment must be recovering from a serious hang over this morning. The GOP base basically wants to take the USA out of the global economy and the elites understand that this is just ignorance Says the guy who happily accepts the angry, old, racist money launderer who is currently under federal investigation. Cruz is not my first choice for the GOP ticket, but one could easily argue that the last person Hillary wants to face in a real debate (as opposed to playing patty-cake with the socialist) is Cruz. She won't be able to cackle her way out that because you'd have a seasoned lawyer who has argued before the Supreme Court going against a woman who, y'know, married a guy who became president before using her role as SoS to make uranium deals in exchange for cash to her "foundation." Now THAT will be funny.

Cruz and Clinton would be a fine debate. Both are good in that setting. Cruz has no path to president--he's too far right and could not win the swing states.

Cruz has no path to president--he's too far right and could not win the swing states. HIllary is horrible at debates. The only reason she looks good right now is because she has not been challenged at all. When her primary opponent says "Enough with the stupid email stories," it's easy to see why Hillary comes across so well. Whereas Cruz could grab Rubio or Kasich or Walker -- or even Martinez or Haley -- and get the edge against Hillary after pounding on her about her emails, her sniper fire stories, her lying to the Benghazi families, her Foundation's money-laundering scheme, her uranium deals....the list goes on and on. Trump would get destroyed debating Hillary because everyone sees what happens when you get under his skin; he turns into a big crybaby. Then he'd run with someone like Palin or Christie, and it would be over before it started.\ Trump absolutely ensures Hillary gets to be president.
B-Man Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Of course, polling this early is foolish, but so is the contention that Ted Cruz couldn't win the general election This country is craving change........................Hillary Clinton is not the face of change. If Trump was such a bad debater then why hasn’t that been shown in the GOP primary debates? I think that you're wishing something true (because you hate Trump) when it’s not true. IMO Trump has been an extremely effective debater. In fact, he has the communication and branding skills to brand Hillary and have it stick. How has “Little Marco” been doing since he’s been branded? What about “low energy” Jeb? While it's not normal debating methods, it obviously has been working like a charm. Edited March 6, 2016 by 1billsfan

The Drudge poll!!! Following those two embarrassing debates, Trump -- widely expected to sweep Super Tuesday as well as yesterday's primaries -- finds Ted Cruz right on his tail. Did you see how badly Trump lost in Kanasas (sic)? And that was AFTER he literally quit on CPAC to campaign in Witchita (sic). Trump simply can not debate beyond babblying incoherently about his penis while repeatedly being reminded how much money he's given to the the Clintons, DNC, passing the Go8 bill, the DNC, etc. You're being duped.

Sorry, but golden boy Rubio brought Trump's penis size into the national debate. Since Trump called him "Little Marco" he's plummeted. Trump took him out with two little words. You're probably not impressed because you think he's just plain stupid. Well stupid just KO'd the golden boy in a few short days. If Trump was so "embarrassing" the last two debates, why does he have an almost 20 point lead over Cruz in today's NBC Michigan poll? Your descriptions of his performance just do not match up with what's going on with voters. Not sure what happened in Kansas or Maine, but I don't see it as Trump losing grip on the lead. I think Caucuses are ripe for weird results. With Maine, I think it might be a Bush revenge thing since the Bush's have had a long and friendly relationship with the people of Maine. BTW, I'd gladly gamble on getting duped by Trump than let myself be duped by another bought and paid for DC politician. Edited March 6, 2016 by 1billsfan
Deranged Rhino Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 What's funny is you calling someone else angry! Ha ha You're the angriest guy on this board. Calling everyone names unprovoked, trolling solely to anger people. So I'd holster that righteous indignation and take a look at your very, very, slow witted friend in the mirror again and ask him to chill.

Ozymandius Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Cruz could actually get a Trump endorsement via the Jeff Sessions connection. I can't imagine Trump/Sessions would endorse the traitor Rubio. Cruz would motivate the base, the mainstream/establishment voters would even support him (because at least he's not Trump), AND he's the one guy who could conceivably get a heartfelt Trump/Sessions endorsement. Basically, Cruz could keep Romney's coalition, but then ADD ON a motivated base and new white working class voters via Trump. He would beat Hillary like a drum with that coalition. He's always been the right compromise candidate for many months now. If the GOP instead performs the convention steal to nominate Romney, Ryan, or Rubio, it's over for them as a Party.

For a dead party, they sure do control an awful lot of Congressional seats, Senate seats, Govnernorships, and State Legislaures
keepthefaith Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 For a dead party, they sure do control an awful lot of Congressional seats, Senate seats, Govnernorships, and State Legislaures Very good point. Personally I think Reince Priebus has to go even if Republicans are successful. The party leadership needs a more charismatic person that can articulate the benefits of its' policy positions and drive that throughout the organization in such a way that educates, motivates and enlists voters using modern presentation methods. The party leader should be a heavy hitter and with Wasserman Schultz at the helm of the other side, it should not be difficult to out communicate her and her party. Reince is a weeny.
