Then again...why isn't Wells Fargo considered part of the federal government even though it's part of the Federal Reserve?

If you understood what the Federal Reserve was and how it worked, you'd answer that.

Obfuscation boy!

The Federal Banking Agency Audit Act, enacted in 1978 as Public Law 95-320 and 31 U.S.C. section 714 establish that the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Reserve banks may be audited by the Government Accountability Office(GAO).[39]

Why would they call it that if they were auditing the Fed? Oh, because its an agency! Duh!

But...Wells Fargo!

Did you know Wells Fargo started in Buffalo? Mayor Fargo was mayor of Buffalo during Civil War

From the lips of Greenspan himself proving Gator is indeed an asshat of epic proportions.

"First of all the Federal Reserve is an independent agency. And that means basically that there is no other agency of government that can overrule the actions we take." '

This in response to the question, "What should be the proper relationship between the chairman of the Fed and the President of the United States."

This video should also be terrifying and sobering to anyone who thinks the Fed is part of the US government. The inspector general flat out admits they do not have juristiction to audit the fed or their member banks:

You're wrong. Greenspan says so, along with nearly every single person in this forum who knows what they're talking about when it comes to this subject.

He said, "other government agencies" as in the Fed is a government agency, duh!

Incorrect. He said no other government agency has authority over them because they are independent. This was in response to the question about what the relationship between the fed chair and POTUS should be. He's saying no other agency (ie THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH) can tell them what to do because they are INDEPENDENT.

Learn to listen. It'll save you from looking like a fool... well, maybe that ship has sailed.

Nice try, but POTUS works through his agencies, obviously he would use one in his relationship. That's why he nominates the chair, its an agency

Well, you changed your answer several times. It public/private--but mostly public.

And yes, its independent for a good reason, some clod watching George Carlin videos might think they understand how the world works and try and change things....somehow

 He'd be WAY more fun and far more tolerable if he were just honest. But being honest means being able to admit you're wrong.

Gator is incapable of admitting he's wrong, about anything, which is why he wears asses for hats and tries to pass it off as a fashion trend.

I changed my answer several times. Walk us through the several changes I've made on the subject.

Yeah we've seen that. <_<
